Please give users a customizable or at least neutral UI.

PLEASE! The blue is so ugly.

I’d love to see the nav bar color changed to a more neutral, less distracting color.

You could probably consider this a purist request, but I’ve always found the navy blue navbar to be unappealing and distracting.

I’m not too interested in offering exact solutions, because I trust that good developers will make good decisions regarding UI and implementation.

But if I thought about it for a moment, potential solutions could be:

● Navbar colors that match the journal cover
● Simple user preference w/ preset colors and a custom color swatch option
● The ability to change the navbar for each notebook (wow, actually this would be great because it’d be very indicative of what you were focused on, and could coincide with the cover)
● Idk, what do you think would be a good solution?

Another user mentioned hiding the navbar - that’s probably an even better idea, so the page is the full size of the screen.

Ultimately this suggestion came about because I do like the idea of writing in an app that’s all white like a piece of paper.

I don’t need fancy skeuomorphism, just for the entire UI to be color matched with the paper.

I included some mockups that help to showcase this idea, which could even be supported with dark pages.

Agrees! Both CollaNote and Notability have such Smart Dark function. GoodNotes, please! It's must have feature in noting app for protecting eyes and improve sleep quality (for our sustainability to be able to be a good customer. lol.)

This is a must-have feature, it's impossible to spend hours reading papers in a white background even with the blue-color filter.

I had GoodNotes 5, and then I purchased GoodNotes 6 as well. It is disappointing that they haven't added a PDF dark mode to the app. I read a lot of published papers, and reading them on a white background for long periods irritates my eyes. I love the app, but I've already made my choice and switched to Notability. It's a shame that the company hasn't respected a simple user request for years.

I want the paper colour to be automatically changed when activating Dark Mode just like Notability. That is the only reason I am forced to use Notability else I immediately shift to goodnotes.

inverting colors in settings on an ipad works, but is not ideal

goodnotes is cross-platform

i often read synced notes on my mac at night so that I can oftentimes ask Claude about some math equations

inverting colors on mac is not very practical

for this reason alone, it would be worth having a true native dark mode feature on goodnotes

Can you please make a dark mode option in settings? I use system bright mode on my iPhone but the white background is overly bright unless I manually turn on my night mode…

For professors, researchers, and students that use Goodnotes for annotations and highlighting, a nightmode would be awesome. Night mode would invert the white pixels to darker black and alter the black text to white, creating a more readability at night.

Annotation happens at night for most of us who research, A night mode that can be toggled or adjusted with iOS night mode would be phenomenonal.
