Animated GIF Support
It would be amazing to have this feature as it's the only thing keeping me from using GoodNotes and not Notability. I'd switch to GoodNotes in a heartbeat if GIFs were supported. Please make it a thing! 🙏

I’m a medical student and it would be of great help if there was a feature to add animated images or gifs or short video clips to the notes. It would make it easier for studying and learning certain clinical signs and symptoms with real life gifs rather than pictures

as an engineering student I have so many GIFs I want to add: video of combustion, sheering a material, propagation of waves, etc. I can list all day

My entire school is currently considering switching back to OneNote because we need to implement videos regularly. I am a teacher and need this for my lessons.

Notability has this feature, and this would be awesome to have, especially for students who are visual learners! Please add this feature and/or adding videos too

it will be very helpful to medical student like me to add some small examinations part or test to revise quickly. (adding links are so frustrating for this small thing)

We need the ability to import animated gifs. This was on a Reddit thread 6 years ago.

This feature has been requested for years, please at least add GIF support if video support is not possible. This is crucial for many learners these days.
Then I will even upgrade to Goodnotes 6. Otherwise, the other new features of version 6 are absolutely superfluous for me (and I think for many other users as well) -

Adding short videos would be fantastic, but if that's impossible, please at least let us import GIFs! Motion or video sequences are critical for many.

I feel like this needs to be a standard for a good all-around digital notetaking application. There are so many use cases that can be beneficial to users for the inclusion of these features.

GIFs have a particular advantage when it comes to learning as they allow for a visual representation of the process of a specific knowledge point. For instance, in research fields, they can be used to observe experimental changes, while in animations, they can showcase variations in motion. Many domains such as mathematics and design require such visual aids. GoodNotes, being a note-taking software widely used among students, should consider supporting GIFs. Many fundamental knowledge points involve motion, and it would be beneficial to have this feature available. Even if GIFs are not supported, at the very least, support for other animated image formats such as webp would be appreciated.
