Ruler
Please add a ruler with cm skala so architects and other students can easiele create plans at the appropriate scale
Hello,
The Ruler tool is available on Apple, Android, Windows, and Web platforms.
With the Ruler, you can draw perfectly straight lines in Goodnotes. When you select the Ruler tool, a ruler appears on the current page to help guide your strokes. Simply draw along the edge of the ruler, and the ink will snap to it automatically.
With the Ruler tool, you can:
- Choose between centimeters and inches
- Set the angle
- Adjust the position of the ruler
The Ruler tool is located in the Accessories menu. If you use it frequently, you can customize your toolbar and add it to the main toolbar for quicker access.
Read here for more details about the tool.

a RULER would help when drawing ray diagrams in my physics class.

Please add a ruler it is really hard to do geometry exercises without one. Ok you can make the line straight but you can’t measure the distance especially when the line isn’t horizontal or vertical. It is also next to impossible to correctly calculate degrees. Thank you in advance.

-we need a versatile ruler with angle on it
-there is a very big delay while writing
-the option to import documents (but i already saw that you are working on that)i would pay up to 20Euro for the programm with all these features :D
im using one note since 2020 but it feels not complete....we really need good notes -

I use Goodnotes for many things.
I often create a quilting template in another app and add it to a GoodNotes doc. I need to make sure it’s the exact size.
I want my entire project in the same app. Please create!

Using stamps/emojis would be nice, along with having an option to use dot points to make note taking easier. A ruler would be a must have for myself as I like to structure my page a certain way when studying. Maybe adding a stabiliser tool to make lines stiffer when writing.

Please add a Ruler or generally mathematic instruments OR at least give the option to lock the scaling of pics but still being able to move and rotate them so I can use a transparent pic as ruler and else.

It would be great for educational content. E.g. math, you could measure degrees of triangles or construct geometric forms using the measuring tools.

Please add - I know it would be extremely beneficial across the user spectrum.

It would be great if you could a lineal and maybe also other geometric tools or geometric shapes.

As a math teacher I can say: this please! I'd like to stick to Goodnotes, but for teaching math, I need a ruler, a way to measure angles and a circle at least. If it's hard to implement, publish a big math package for a small amount of money ... but adding this without charge would make Goodnotes the Nr. 1 recommendation for math, physics, ...

A triangle ruler that adjusts to the scaling of the page would make goodnotes a much more efficiant tool for math students and teachers.

Important: circle with center through a point and circle with fixed radius.
And rotating objects without resizing. With this, you could make the triangle ruler yourself. -

I sometimes struggle to write in a straight line, it would be super cool if there'd be a feature, where you could insert some kind of ruler/support line, just a faint one, one that doesnt stay on the document, one that doesnt influence thats already written, that helps as a reference to write straight. thanks very much, apart from that, its a super super great app, i dont know how id do uni without you :D
