Ruler
Please add a ruler with cm skala so architects and other students can easiele create plans at the appropriate scale
Hello,
The Ruler tool is available on Apple, Android, Windows, and Web platforms.
With the Ruler, you can draw perfectly straight lines in Goodnotes. When you select the Ruler tool, a ruler appears on the current page to help guide your strokes. Simply draw along the edge of the ruler, and the ink will snap to it automatically.
With the Ruler tool, you can:
- Choose between centimeters and inches
- Set the angle
- Adjust the position of the ruler
The Ruler tool is located in the Accessories menu. If you use it frequently, you can customize your toolbar and add it to the main toolbar for quicker access.
Read here for more details about the tool.

I work as a civil engineer in a paperless office. I have to deal with a lot of construction plans and for me it is important to be able to take measurements from those plans or draw in exact measurements. So I would be very pleased if a ruler, which can be set to a certain scale (e.g. 1:50) could be added to GoodNotes. Currently I have to resort to a pdf-software on my PC, which disrupts the workflow.

An setting u can turn on so that if u start writing something a TEMPORARY straight line appears underneath your text that u can then write on. That way even if u are writing on blank paper (for example powerpoint slides), you can still write in a straight line. When u stop writing the line disappears (after approximately 5 seconds so you can lift your pencil up for a space between words in one sentence)
This would be a very small but truly amazing feature!

100%, I recently got GoodNotes after 2 years of iOS Notes, and this is literally the only feature it doesn't have compared to iOS. I think a protractor button would be a good fit in the dropdown menu for shapes.

I've noticed that a lot of people have already asked for this, but those might land on having the need for more information.
I'd like to see a feature like this added, because the predictions are wrong so often! I pull a line which I want to be straight, may have wiggled slightly and GN5 in some cases recognises it as a curve.
A ruler in GN5 would also just help you with sketching up stuff real quick, like a sheet or so without having the need to either import your own paper that has this or rely on the prediction system and having to do micro-adjustments all the time.
It would also just be very useful if you simply work with stuff, where measurements have to be accurate.
In some ways you can even use the ruler AND the prediction system, an example would be to just draw a few lines which the prediction system had done and later you check with the ruler how long those lines actually are (if necessary)
Please take this into heavy consideration.
I hope this suggestion finds you well.

You can add a ruler feature, were you can draw straight lines and see the angle. There could be a centimeter display, which shows how long this line would be in ,,real“ life.

Please add horizontal and vertical rulers (similar to the rulers available is MS word / indesign, etc ...) so that the user would be able to place an object/write in a precise location. This is very helpful if someone intends to print a page with specific header/footer sizes and left/right margins, or for example if someone wants to place an object 4cm from the top, and 2cm from the left of the page.

I also highly support the implementation of these features!

Many users are asking for technical drawing aids (rulers, protractors, triangle rulers, etc.)
A very quick workaround [not a final solution, but a helpful start] would be to include a sticker collection containing some drawing tools on transparent backgrounds.
I am aware that now one can create sticker packs by oneself, but not all users might come up with the idea / would know how to do it. -

It would be very useful if multiple images inserted in a page had an alignment grid feature which indicates when the images are at the same height order top/bottom position.
When inserting multiple images, I manually resize them more or less the same, but having them the exact same size or even aligned would be very useful. I could imagine some temporary gridline showing up once an image reaches the dimensions or edges or another image or is centered with the other image to give a rough guide about the position.
In the attachment, you can see a similar feature from InDesign.

I second this! I have ADHD and the reading ruler on the kindle app helps so much with reading for school. Goodnotes is great for reading pdfs but adding a reading ruler would make this app invaluable to those of us with neurodivergencies.

I am a math teacher and would love the ability to use these tools during my lesson. I generally use GoodNotes to project the pdf version of the math book students work from. But when I have to use manipulative such as a ruler or protractor or fraction pieces I have to go back to my doc cam. I love the ability to move around the room that GoodNotes and iPad has allowed me to do instead of stuck behind my desk using a doc cam.

We Need a lineal function to mess some kind of stuff on our pages. Would be really nice for Students in Math to have the exact measure data.
Please add this in the near Future.
