[New tool] Post-it Tabs
One of the major issues in relation to using a digital file, compared to a traditional paper file is that in a paper file you can attach "post-its" to relevant pages which you can then refer to when you are using that file. This is an essential tool for lawyers, for example. So that, if you are referring to a bundle of files, you can have them in front of you where you can see the protruding tabs and refer to them immediately. The visualisation of the tabs – allows for easy access to the relevant page.
Whilst good notes allows you to tab pages – obviously – there are physical differences between hard paper and electronic paper.
However, would it be possible for good notes to try and emulate this by doing the following:
- You have the option of attaching a coloured side tab to the relevant pages;
- You then have the option of "see side tabs"
- When you press that option, the tabbed pages, with their tabs, all shrink slightly and move to the left – allowing you to see the tabs. Then, you can press the tab which opens the page – similar to how this would work in hardcopy.
I attach a photograph by way of example.
Perhaps, something like this could be considered.
Many thanks for taking the time to consider this idea.
Kind regards,
Asim

I am loving the app, but I believe that two new features would improve it: on one hand, implementing the possibility to add post-it notes above the text to include important ideas both via keyboard and handwriting; on the other hand, being able to add bookmarks to pages so that you can easily travel through them in the sidebar.

Yes!!! I wish there was a way to add that note section as shown in the screen shot, sometimes when importing slides it would be great to have the side to add additional comments/notes to not overcrowd the slide itself. Also I wish there was sticky notes that were their own entities (like if you moved the sticky than all the text in it would come along with it, currently its in a way where you wold have to lasso tool everything and that could mess up formatting of stuff that you accidentally lasso).

YES!
Insert a small icon like the comments „bubble“ you have now, but when tapped it should open into a small sticky note that allows handwriting.
The margins of pdf files usually don't have enough room and inserting an extra page is a bit too much and disturbs the flow of the original article.
Ink / handwriting is essential here! All we scientific types came to GN, because only handwriting allows us to quickly write an equation or sketch diagrams and function graphs.
PLEASE! This would be just the thing for annotating pdfs. -

I agree with A N Khan, they need accommodate handwriting.
The little comments we already have are basically useless to me - because they can’t hold equations, diagrams or sketches of any type.
But that really is *the key feature* of any handwriting app. -

I would love to have sticky notes available on my notes pages! Sometimes I'll go back and add things that my professor says or from the textbook and it would be nice to be able to add a sticky note that can be opened/closed on the notes page.

A sticky note feature would be incredibly useful, especially if the “shared document” feature continues to improve. My colleagues and I are all remote and communicate with each other one documents by just writing notes in the margins. It would be nice to be on a shared document and be able to easily see a sticky note (and easily see which pages contain said notes).

I completely agree! Sometimes documents or slides do not have space to place sticky notes. If there was an ability for the sticky notes to be able to expand past the document but still place on the document (like an actual real life sticky) it would help sooooo much with note taking! Please please please implement!!

These are elements in the app or to download of sticky notes. Add text over.

The ability to group the text and the element so that they both move at the same time. I see the versatility in the current way, but the option to group them together and move together would be great.

The ability to move sticky notes onto the side, next to the document. Kind of like comments in Microsoft Word

yes, would be nice for lengthy calculations when you have to look up formulas frequently. Essentially collapsible large sticky notes

I also agree that this feature would improve my PDF annotating. As another person mentioned, it would also be super helpful to be able to see where the sticky notes are through some kind of indexing or search feature where you can see all of your notes at once.

I would like to thank you for adding the sticky note feature, but I also have one suggestion about it. When I write on the sticky note, I'd like for the notes to be automatically grouped with the sticky note in order to be moved together whenever I decide to move the sticky note. We should also have the option to ungroup them when desired.
This would be a lot more convenient than having to use the selection tool in order to select both the sticky note and the notes I wrote on it in order to be able to move them together. -

Yes! I agree this is a necessity. I was actually coming on here to ask for this. We now have the stickers we can use as sticky notes but I would like to be able to use margins for extra space for my sticky note or for the sticky note flags that in real life stick out of the book, and if you could actually aligned that to the outlines tab that would be magnificent but that’s another battle I don’t mind waiting for.
