Hi, goodnotes! Can we get a pen that look like this? Also, I think it is time to update the pens, highlighter, and pencils. I would definitely want a new and improved fountain pen. The pencil most definitely needs a new update.

Please add a feature that allows converting a fountain pen stroke into a pencil or other pen tools, as well as a line style conversion feature (solid, dashed, dotted).

Conversion to ballpoint pen (from brush, fountain pen, or pencil) is possible,
but reverse conversion from ballpoint pen to fountain pen, brush, or pencil is not feasible,
because ballpoint pen strokes cannot reproduce Apple Pencil tip tilt and pressure data.

Pen that writes exactly like the new pencil. So a sharp pen that’s not a fountain pen or a ball pen.

Fountain pen should be more fluid and Seamless. Overall goodnotes is such a beautiful app.

Please change the angle of flat edge in tip flatness.
It’s exactly the opposite to a fountain pen settings in apples markup.

In Apple Markup, the flat-tipped pen mimics a real fountain pen, where the angle leads to horizontal thinness and vertical thickness. In Goodnotes, it seems pen engine uses a different angle orientation, making strokes thicker on horizontal movement, it looks so bad, please change it. Thank youn

Separate between the pen options (fountain pen, ball pen and brush pen) so each will appear in the tool bar

I didn't realize how much storage the fountain pen and brush pen needed to write compared to the ballpoint pen.

I am suggesting a way to destructively convert fountain pen strokes and brush pen strokes to save storage in exported PDFs and in goodnotes documents.

This would save /reduce storage space needed for a document and/or the exported PDF.

Possible UI implementation:
1. Select handwriting that was written with a fountain pen or a brush pen.
2. Open the ... button for "More settings"
3. Choose button titled "Convert handwriting to ballpoint strokes"
4. Pop-up confirms that conversion cannot be undone (except by undo)
5. Strokes are now ballpoint pen!

Alternative / supplemental possibility:
In the export menu, there is an option to use ballpoint pen strokes instead of fountain pen strokes.

I would like to be able to choose what orientation the fountain draws. I would prefer it be flat like this “—“ rather than slanted “ / “ I have a pencil pro but I would rather it stay flat like this “—“ “than me have to rotate it everytime.

More than 4 years later, this feature has not been fixed. Even today in 2024 the 'draw and hold' lines with the fountain pen are far thicker than the normal handwriting lines, and it is ugly enough to be not usable.

The newly added pencil tool in Goodnotes 6 offers an excellent writing and sketching experience, with smooth and intuitive strokes. It would be fantastic to have similar brush settings and handwriting functionality for the fountain pen, giving users the option to adjust it for more stable, precise writing. Currently, the fountain pen feels unstable, and I often find myself switching to Noteful for better handwriting. If the fountain pen could incorporate the same improvements seen in the pencil tool, it would make Goodnotes 6 a more versatile and complete tool for note-taking and sketching.

This is something that has been requested many times and the numbers in the past years when I have checked were far larger and there were far more posts. I would think this request wouldn’t be skipped for so long given the capabilities of all of the other apps that use it, including a top competitor, Noteshelf.

I don’t know why. Writing with the original Apple fountain pen in app like notes produces very neat and beautiful handwriting, but it is ugly when I try to use the fountain pain in Goodnotes. Do you have any suggestion? 😅

Pen thickness changes depending on direction of stroke. Usually, the stroke only gets thicker in a downward stroke. Right now it isn't much different than brush pen.

Please change FOUNTAIN PEN STYLE 🙏🙏🙏
And put option finger as eraser please🙏

The handwriting experience in GoodNotes 4 is much better, because the fountain pen is not that exaggerated like in GoodNotes 5. Please optimise this.

I can't see any difference in the ballpen and fountain pen.

Please add a new type of pen whose color will become darker over time. So that the user can easily identify which handwriting was written recently
