Attach audio to a word or phrase in a note (voice recording OR imported audio file)
Idea Description:
It would be incredibly useful to be able to attach audio to a specific word or phrase within a note. This audio could be:
• either a voice recording made directly within the app,
• or an imported audio file (such as a .mp3, .m4a, .wav, etc.) — not just a voice recording.
When the user taps or clicks on the word, the corresponding audio should play automatically.
Why it matters:
Currently, GoodNotes allows for general voice recordings, but it is not possible to link a specific sound to a specific word, nor to import an external audio file and associate it with a word. This feature would open the door to interactive, multimodal, and educational note-taking.
Requested Features:
• Allow linking a word or phrase to:
• a voice recording made in the app,
• or an imported audio file (not limited to in-app recordings).
• Enable playback of the audio upon tap/click on the word.
• Optionally show a small audio icon next to the word to indicate the presence of audio.
• Support multiple audio links on the same page or document.
• Provide an intuitive interface to add, replace, or remove audio.
Use Cases:
• Language learning: Link a word to a native pronunciation audio file.
• Teachers: Create rich, interactive, audio-enhanced materials.
• Accessibility: Support users who benefit from audio-based learning.
• Revision and memorization: Reinforce concepts by associating them with sound.
