Please make the new floating toolbar OPTIONAL and provide the option of reverting to the old toolbar
The latest update introduced an obnoxious and distracting floating toolbar below the primary toolbar, taking up more space and reducing the amount of room there is to actually write on the document. Further, it’s shorter in width, so you have to scroll more to find different highlighter colors, pen options, etc.
The new toolbar offers LESS functionality than before and I didn’t see anyone complaining or asking for it to be overhauled for everyone. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Please introduce a toggle where you can choose whether you want this new toolbar or the old one, as it’s fine if it’s an option but the old toolbar that a lot of people liked should also be an option still.

Improving software like GoodNotes for Apple is essential for smoother performance. Just like optimizing your system’s performance with a https://bottleneckcheck.com/gaming-bottleneck-calculator/ bottleneck tool, identifying and resolving any bottlenecks in software can enhance its efficiency. If you're looking to boost your device's performance, using a tool that detects and resolves such bottlenecks can be incredibly helpful.

Agree, the new tool bar decreases efficiency. Where I used to be able to quickly choose a tool, based on my own customization, I now have to click more times to get to what I want. Similarly with the inability to easily bookmark a page, I now have to look for the bookmark, than choose from a drop down if I want to have them on the side bar.

Totally agree, especially when I want to move stuff and the bar just blocks the view

I completely agree that giving users the choice to stick with the old toolbar is crucial — not everyone adapts easily to new UI changes. Flexibility always improves user satisfaction. I’ve seen similar feedback patterns in app customization tools like https://fluxussexecutor.com/
, where optional interfaces greatly enhance usability. -

I totally agree — updates like that can sometimes make things more frustrating instead of improving the user experience. Having the option to switch back to the old toolbar would definitely be ideal. Flexibility is key; not everyone works the same way, and forcing a single layout often ends up hurting productivity rather than helping it. Hopefully, the developers listen to user feedback and bring back the toggle soon.

I completely agree. My workflow has been completely interrupted. What used to take 1 click now takes 5, and as someone that constantly switches tools, this is so frustrating. I also despise the floating toolbar, it feels like it's extremely in the way. And can we please bring back the zoom window in the toolbar??

I agree. The new toolbar seems like a ripoff of the Notability toolbar, but there's a reason I use Goodnotes and it's not to receive the same exact interface I could from a different app. It's incredibly disorienting for all of my icons to be out of place, and I keep trying and failing to press them on muscle memory.
