Cartesian co-ordinate system tool
Hello Goodnotes Team,
I am a dedicated user of your app, and I love how it has transformed my note-taking. I have a feature suggestion that I believe would be immensely valuable for students and professionals in mathematics, science, and engineering: the addition of a built-in Cartesian Coordinate System tool.
The Suggestion
Currently, users must manually draw or import graph paper to create graphs. My suggestion is to implement a feature that allows users to instantly generate a customizable Cartesian coordinate plane on any page, similar to how the Shape Tool works.
Key Customization Options
This tool would be most powerful if it included the following options:
1. Axis Limits: Ability to set the minimum and maximum values for both the x-axis and the y-axis.
2. Grid Density/Spacing: Control over the distance between major and minor grid lines (e.g., spacing of 1, 0.5, 2, 10 units).
3. Visibility Toggle: Options to toggle the visibility of the primary axes, the grid lines, and labels/tick marks independently.
4. Styling: Selection of line weight and color for the axes and grid.
5. Snapping (Ideal): An advanced option for shapes, lines, and the Pen tool to "snap" to the grid lines or tick marks when enabled, making it easy to plot points and draw precise functions.
Why This is Important
This feature would significantly:
1. Save Time: Eliminate the tedious and imprecise process of manually drawing axes and grid lines.
2. Increase Precision: Ensure accurate and neat graphs for homework, lab reports, and technical notes.
3. Enhance Goodnotes' Value: Solidify Goodnotes' position as the premier application for academic and technical users.
Thank you for considering this request. I look forward to seeing the app continue to evolve!
Best regards.
