Lack of snapping and reference points when using shapes
Hi everyone,
I’d like to report a limitation I’ve noticed when working with shapes in Goodnotes and ask if others feel the same.
When drawing or editing shapes such as circles, squares, and lines, there is currently no snapping or anchoring system. This makes it difficult to align shapes precisely or connect them to each other.
In particular:
There are no visible reference points (such as center points, midpoints, or edge anchors).
It’s hard to find the exact center of a circle or square.
Aligning shapes or connecting lines to other shapes requires a lot of manual adjustment and is often imprecise.
This can be limiting when creating diagrams, technical drawings, graphs, or structured notes, where precision is important.
I think adding automatic snapping and anchor points (centers, edges, midpoints, intersections) would significantly improve the shape tool and make Goodnotes much more powerful for these use cases.
Does anyone else experience this issue or would find such a feature useful?
