Display full heading text in the outline panel ( via wrapping or expandable view) & Add flexible viewing or display options.
- PDF Outline (Table of Contents) Usability
Problem:
In large PDFs, the outline panel truncates headings with “…” after a few words, making it difficult to quickly identify sections—especially in dense medical textbooks with similar headings.
Suggestion:
• Display full heading text in the outline panel (either via wrapping or expandable view)
• Improve readability and navigation by allowing users to clearly distinguish between sections at a glance
2. View Modes & Reading Themes
Problem:
Reading long PDFs for extended periods can be visually tiring, and navigation options are limited compared to dedicated PDF readers.
Suggestion:
Add flexible viewing and display options such as:
• Vertical scrolling (continuous)
• Horizontal/page-by-page scrolling
• Two-page (spread) view
• Reading themes: Day, Sepia, and Night modes
These features would significantly improve comfort and usability during long study sessions.
⸻
- Text-Snapping Highlight Tool
Problem:
The current marker tool works well for freehand highlighting but lacks precision when highlighting dense text, especially in textbooks.
Suggestion:
• Introduce a highlight tool that snaps directly to selectable text (like standard PDF readers)
• Maintain clean, consistent highlighting aligned with text boundaries
This would improve both speed and accuracy when annotating study material.
⸻
- Insertable Note Icons with Rich Content
Problem:
There is no simple way to attach detailed notes to specific points in a PDF without cluttering the page.
Suggestion:
• Add an “Insert Note” feature that allows users to:
• Type text
• Draw/write
• Insert images
• Display a visible icon at the note location
• Allow the icon to be movable and repositionable
