[URGENT] Severe usability issue: Text Box insertion blocked by existing document text
I am writing to report a critical usability flaw regarding the Text Box tool that severely disrupts the core note-taking workflow. I strongly request your development team to review and resolve this issue as a top priority.
Currently, Goodnotes only allows users to tap and create a Text Box in completely blank areas where no document text exists. When I tap directly over or near areas with existing document text, the app completely ignores my touch input and refuses to open a Text Box at that exact spot.
My entire workflow depends on tapping directly on or right next to document text to type notes, answers, and annotations. However, because the app forcefully prioritizes the underlying document text, manual touch inputs are completely blocked. Having to create a Text Box in empty margins and then manually drag it over every single time is extremely inefficient and frustrating.
This is a fundamental feature flaw that severely hinders the user experience. To fix this workflow-breaking issue, I strongly urge you to implement the following improvements in an upcoming update:
[MUST BE FIXED] Prioritize the Text Box Tool: When the Text Box tool is selected, tapping ANYWHERE on the document—especially over existing document text—MUST immediately create a Text Box at that exact touch location.
[MUST BE FIXED] Prevent Document Text Interference: Existing document text should NEVER block or override a user's manual touch input when using editing tools.
The ability to freely place text boxes anywhere on a document is the most essential function of a note-taking app. I emphasize once again that this issue desperately needs a swift fix.
I sincerely ask the development team to prioritize this request and address it as soon as possible. I look forward to a positive response and a quick update.
Thank you for your time and support.
Best regards
