Yes Notability has this feature and that's why I'm using it especially for meetings or lectures when a lot of information should be quickly recorded. It's very helpful and, in my opinion, is a "must have" feature for a note taking app.
Really hope Goodnotes would add this feature in near future.

yes please add audio recording. also, the option to add videos and play back in the notes. also, the option to add 3d animations and play it back on the note

I want to add another Idea to the audio recording. First of all, if there would just be an audio recording feature WHILE beeing able to take notes would be a MAJOR HELP.

But it would be perfect if you could add timestamps so you can see which notes you took at a specific time. So you are simply able to hear what happened when you took a specific note.

The playback possibilty that the person before me commented, would be another big improvement.

Bought the app but stopped using it cause the recording app is so crucial. Still waiting patiently

Why have you not started or completed this? It is not that hard to implement. Kind of annoying how many votes it has and it has been up for 3 years without being started. I am not buying until there is audio. Just do it already!

I have used the Livescribe pen to take notes and also record at the same time. The software hasnt been MAC / Apple freindly for several years and I recently purchased an Apple 2017 Ipad Pro and would like to migrate from the Livescribe device to an app that would allow me to take notes and record at the same time and then click on specific parts of my notes and play the corresponding recording. Livescribe pen does this well. I hope you add this type of capability to your product. Sync audio with notes and allow selected playback. And, of course, allowing all recording to be uploaded to a cloud so they are synced and can be accessed from multiple devices

Agree, I only want to use one Notes APP----Goodnotes with Audio Rec ,
now switching between Goodnotes and Notability is very inconvenient.

Please implement the audio feature with the ability to focus on the "aha moments" please!!!

When you press the "record" button, it starts recording from 15 seconds back in time so that you don't miss the context.

This feature would be perfect because usually one doesn't want to record the entire lecture / meeting. Usually one records only highlights!

"click on a word to hear that selection" sounds REALLY useful!

I'm a university student and being able to record my lectures while taking notes would be great... I hope this update comes soon or I might have to find another app to use...

Currently using GoodNotes but considering purchasing Notability for this function even though it's inconvenient to switch between the 2. Generally I prefer GoodNotes for it's OCR search capabilities.

If GoodNotes added a voice recording function and asked for a small fee via in-app purchase, I'd rather buy it than investing in another note taking app.

And...It's a bit over a year now that you have recognized the essential of the function, so....shouldn't the status change to the "started" by now?
