Highlighter Grouping
I often use different sets of highlighting colors depending on what I’m working on. It would be very helpful if Goodnotes allowed users to create and save groups (or palettes) of highlight colors. That way, I wouldn’t need to manually change the highlight colors each time I switch tasks or subjects.

text document
I love the idea of the text document, it creates a notetaking ability that is similar to one note. However, I would love for there to be more customization (font, spacing, drawing, etc) within this feature. ALSO I would love to be able to create class notebooks in which they are text document format but there is a separate menu within the notebook for each page. This was I can separate my notebooks by unit!

Screen record
It would be extremely helpful if GoodNotes supported video recording of the note-taking process, including screen capture and optional audio recording. This feature could allow users to:
• Record lectures or self-explanations while writing
• Rewatch how notes were created step by step
• Create educational content or revision videos directly within the appSuch a feature would be especially beneficial for students, teachers, and content creators who use GoodNotes as their primary digital notebook.

Enable Text Highlighting with Mouse on iPadOS
Dear Goodnotes Team,
I’d like to share some feedback regarding the use of a mouse in the iPadOS version of Goodnotes.
Currently, when using the app on a MacBook, it’s possible to highlight text with a mouse. However, on the iPad, this functionality is not available. If you’re using an iPad with a mouse and keyboard setup, you have to physically move the iPad closer, pick up the Apple Pencil, and only then can you highlight text.
This makes the experience less seamless, especially for users who prefer a desktop-like setup with their iPad.

Notebook Synchronization
Integrating a synchronization button within the three dots menu of a notebook would help synchronize it when working on it from a laptop or iPad, as there is a synchronization delay between the two devices. This would allow the user to avoid going back to the main menu to synchronize the notebook and then return to their work.

Automatic Handwriting enhancement / Erase and Tags
Hello,
Would it be possible to add an automatic handwriting enhancement feature, similar to the one offered by Apple Note?
And also to be able to erase by long-pressing with the Apple Pencil, like in Notability, for example.
These two features would be a fantastic addition to Goodnotes!
Another thing: a tag system for finding files more efficiently.

It would be great if PDF files could be imported without becoming a separate page, but rather so that they appear on the interface similar to notes and can be resized.
For example, you could insert additional PDFs into a school script that provide further information on the topic and can be stored there.
This way, the PDFs can be minimised for storage and then enlarged for reading.2 votes -
Auto-deselect for lasso tool
Auto-switch back to previous tool after using the lasso.
For example, after I move an object, it automatically switches back to the pen tool.

Floating views
When working on math it is very common to have a formula that you need to reference often. At the moment we always just have to either zoom out, or keep scrolling back to the section we wrote it in.
It would be great if we could do some kind of rectangular selection and have just that section of the page become a floating popup window (perhaps as a small square on the opposite side of our writing hand?) showing the contents that we selected, so that we dont have to keep awkwardly navigating through all the pages.

Text document
・I want to be able to lay out images more freely in text documents. For example, if you reduce the size, you can arrange photos next to it.
・I want to insert a saved video on my device instead of a link.
・I find it convenient to be able to preview links on both text documents and whiteboards.

Return underlining button
GN recently took away the ability to do straight underling in favor of holding the pen until it snaps into place. I do a lot of underlining of study projects, and that was my most used feature. Now it is gone and it takes much more time to have to hold the pen for a straight line to snap into place. What is wrong with adding that button back into the annotation mix? I am sure I am not the only one who was dissapointed in this automatic new version. Is there a way to go back to the earlier…

Grading Instructor-uploading
I think it is critical that an instructor upload version be provided for grading important paper exams. The instructor would upload a PDF with batches of exams. Based upon a template, the batched PDF would be split into submissions. Then each submission would be sorted to the appropriate students and go through the grading process.
This would be useful in cases where students don't have easy access to iPads/styli. Or, where teachers are giving paper exams and don't want students to handle the submission process.

Video clips and more writing tools and drag and drop of specfic page to my mind map
Everything is good I mainly use Goodnotes for mind mapping my lectures the only hindrance I faced that I was not able to add video clips to my notes, and also when I import PDF of my lecture notes in good notes. I can’t just drag and drop pages from like a specific slide to directly into my Notes, which is like a another hindrance because I have to take screenshot again and again and then put it back in. Whiteboard covers
I wish we could give the whiteboards covers instead of the zoomed out version of the whole whiteboard. It would make organizing my different boards so much easier.

Pen stroke thicknesses
Currently, the app offers three pen stroke thicknesses (thin, medium, thick). It would be useful to allow users to add one or two additional stroke options for greater flexibility in note-taking and diagramming.
I think a lot of students would benefit from this option especially students who zoom in to write on tiny organ pictures and re-zoom out for a different font size, like in my case.
The idea is for those who want to add they can who don’t want then nothing changes.

Screenshot improvements
The current screenshot feature captures all notes on the page. I wish to add an option to capture only the background.
Also, it would be easier to have an option like "screenshot and copy", the current workflow is too complex: screenshot, share, copy, and close the preview...
So two features: "screenshot background", "screenshot and copy".

Document Navigation
This will either be a new document or a revised version of the whiteboard.
It would be an amazing feature if there is an infinite whiteboard like space that you can navigate on by clicking and holding the middle mouse button making it easier to plan with Goodnotes.
