Make the size of the paper displayed on the screen the same as the size of the real paper.
Please add the ability to scale the size of the paper on the screen so that it is the same size as the actual paper.
The story of how I came to this conclusion is below.GoodNote's convenient scaling function makes it easy to draw fine text and figures. But at the same time that functionality takes you away from writing on actual paper.

better overview in zoom-handwriting
We use goodnotes in school and its hard to like read a text and do notes at the same time, because you have to switch pages every 2 seconds. Thats why i would be nice to have, this zoom-handwriting thing to work at the another page, while you reading at a page.

Highlighter action reverts to writing mode when highlighting finishes (like the eraser does)
I write text, but want to delete it so use the eraser function. When I remove my apple pencil off the page, it goes back to write function (pen) automatically. Great feature
I write text. I now highlight the text using the highlighter function on GoodNotes. But it stays on the highlighter function so I have to click back to the pen function to continue writing.
Why can the highlighter function work like the eraser function in reverting back to pen mode automatically

Ability to write outside of page
Please allow writing outside of page in the margins, similar to OneNote.

Positioning of Document
Ability to place the open document more away from the edge, for better Handwriting.
Current Workaround: Place bigger Notebookcover at First place, doesn´t work, when all other documents are the same Size

Context: Notes contain concepts and theory, and often, these concepts must be applied in examples (especially in engineering where there are tonnes of examples in the lectures). Examples take up a lot of space in the 'theory' document, and makes scrolling through the document more tedious and makes it harder to find the notes you are looking for in a quick and efficient manner.
Solution: Rather than doing examples in another notebook, it would be nice if you could simply add a page(s) behind or adjacent to the current 'theory' page which you can do examples on. This would make…

Add possibility to create notebook as a series of photos as backgrounds
I often practice for exams with my children. When doing that we take or get pictures or pdfs from the teaching material.
Today we import each of those a picture, scale it to fit the page and then work with it.
It would be amazing if we could create a new Notebook by selecting any number of photos and have them imported as a new background.
It would be almost as good if it could automatically scale the picture to match the page. The reason to have it as background is that we never want anything to be behind it.…

GoodNotes on the new MacBook Air M2
The GoodNotes on MacBook Air 2022 does not allow shortcuts for files to be sent from safari directly to GoodNotes. It's also very difficult to use this product on MacBook Air since it glitches when you're selecting text to copy and trying to unselect it.
I truly enjoyed GoodNotes in the past so I'm hoping someone sees this and fixes these bugs on the software.

lasso lost after pencil switched.
I am using pencil gen 2 with iPad, what I met as following:
- Use lasso tool to select a section in the page
- Tap pencil twice (for daily usage, this act will do incautiously)
- Lasso tool will be switched to eraser tool, and selected section will be lost
- Even you try to tap pencil twice again, tool will be lasso tool again, however you will have to select the previous section again.1 vote -
Keep screen awake
When I turn on "low power mode" screen turn off after a short while. If tgere was an option to keep tge screen awake when goodnotes is open, it would be a pleasure.

conversion text can be replaced directly
I hope that the handwritten conversion text can be replaced directly onto the converted text instead of needing to copy and paste.

Favorites scrolling
When in the Miniature view and on Favorites, let users swipe right and left for next and previous Favorites, this small feature would make finding important stuff way easier.

Edit Word and PowerPoint files in app
A lot of apps (other than the MS Office suite) out there can edit Word (.docx) and PowerPoint (.pptx) files.
Given that a lot of class notes are given by professors in these formats, having the ability to modify them within the app would allow users to replace MS Office apps for basic note editing work.
I already keep all PDF docs in GoodNotes. Having the option to properly import and edit Word and PowerPoint files here would make it much more convenient.
This would make GoodNotes more attractive for working professionals as well.
Hope to see this feature sometime…

Changing color with lasso tool
Changing color of written or typed notes with lasso tool.
For example if you color code your notes and accidentally write a paragraph in the wrong color, you can change the color of everything that is encircled in the lasso.4 votes -

status bar on the sides
It would be nice to be able to set the status bar / nav bar on the sides (right or left side).

clock colour on white background
The clocks colour is not visible on white backgrounds due to the time beeing in white (same as the charge and wifi icon). It would be great if its colour would be adaptive or atleast not also white.
