  1. Quick defeat of iPad auto screen lock

    Some apps (such as TimeZero navigation s'ware) have an in-app configuration option that allows the app to keep the iPad screen active, even without user activity. I think GN needs this feature.

    I often transcribe from my GoodNotes, with the iPad propped up in front of my desktop computer screen (my hand writing is too rough for auto-text conversion and sometimes I write in a private shorthand).

    It's so annoying when the screen keeps going black and I have to wake it up again. And it's a nuisance to have to drop into iPad settings, find Brightness/Display, and defeat the…

  3. Partly screen lock

    if the partly lock screen function in GoodNotes 4 (during projection) can be used in GoodNotes 5 as well would be excellent!

  5. Ability to upload pen/brush styles like in procreate!

  7. Adding a keyboard shortcut for changing colors

    I'm using a bluetooth keyboard with iPad when I'm writing and I find it really useful to change tools with keyboard shortcuts (instead of clicking the icons)! I think it would be better if you could also add a shortcuts for changing colors (for example command+1, command+2, command+3). I will really appreciate that and thanks in advance!

  8. Please let me export my notes with both the outline and searchable texts

    The problem I currently face when I export my notes in pdf format is that I can only export it with the outline preserved or with searchable characters but not with both features, which is vexing to say the least as both are essential for me to structure my notes.

    It should not be a huge technological barrier for GoodNotes to break through,right? Thanks, I need this new feature stat.

  9. Take a picture with iPhone camera instead of iPad camera

    Take a picture with iPhone camera instead of iPad camera.
    For better usability it would be easier to use user's iPhone to take picture and it is a feature I need every day. (Apple notes app has the feature)

  10. Two languages in one notebook

    I am studying Spanish, and I usually write the English translation of vocabularies in my GoodNotes Notebook. But the notebook can only recognize one of the languages which are sometimes a bit chaotic when I am trying to look for particular vocabularies. Thanks.

  11. flatten annotations into a single "mega annotation"

    There's similar ideas to be able to write over an existing annotation so you can selectively erase.

    This suggestion is different

    I want to be able to flatten an annotation so it's not enormous! I like to do a detailed drawing, and then I'm done! I don't need my exported PDF to be massive, and I'm not going to come back and edit.

    By not flattening, the notebook gets quite sluggish!

    Use case:
    I use GoodNotes as a laboratory notebook

  16. “Clone Stamp Tool” Write once, as if many times

    A tool that allows you to set several ‘Stamp’ point, and when you write something, the same will appear from each ‘Stamp’
    This can make something easier, such as write duplicated words, or draw parallel lines

    Just make a calligraphy pen please. Noteshelf is better because they have this.

    The writing experience is everything when you use GoodNotes5 all day. I’m sure you guys can change the pen shape easily if you wanted.

  18. Background color for text box - like post-it note

    Ability to add a background color to a text box, so that it looks like a post-it note. Then, I could easily sort my ideas by color and get a high level snapshot. Thanks!

  20. continuity markup live on Mac and iPad

    I would like to have continuity markup live where on Mac it will show what I have been doing with iPad and Apple Pencil. Or we can do presentation mode on Mac app.
