Allow 16:9 for projection
Hi,
It'd be great if, when you hook your iPad up to a projector via, e.g., HDMI, it could switch to a 16:9 format or use it as a mirrored screen at 16:9. Powerpoint, Keynote, etc allow you to this, but it'd be great if I could project what I'm writing to my class in a format that fills the screen.

Ability to name bookmarks
My favourite feature from GoodNotes 4 (and the reason why I use GoodNotes more than Notability) was the ability to create my own document outline by adding named bookmarks.
Please bring back that feature!

Black paper templates and create own notebook covers
Love the new white pen color. They’d be great to use on black paper templates for when writing outdoors in bright sun. The notebook cover options are great, but being to add my own artwork to notebook covers would make special.

Increase the writing area
The writing area in GN5 is actually reduced with respect to 4. I spend 100% of my time writing notes in the same colour, so the always present toolbar is a waste of space. I would like a toolbar which contracts when not used and expands when touched, something like the menubar in OSX. More writing area! At least, make the toolbar more compact

Please re-introduce support to smart stylus BAMBOO Fineline in Goodnotes 5 !
In the new version of application my Bamboo Fineline is no more compatible. I spent 70EUR to buy a smart stylus and now it is completely useless!

Export to Day One journaling App
Day One is not currently included in the list of external apps on export.
I can use the lasso tool and save to screenshot and choose Day One from there, but it is a long workaround.6 votes -
More stylus options available on GoodNotes 5
At the moment just apple pencile is supported on good notes5.instead, the previous version has more option for those who do not have Apple Pencil. Can this features be restore? It's the main reason why I have chooses GoodNotes as my taking notes app. I've an adonti pixel point stylus.

The search of GoodNotes should be integrated with spotlight
By integrating the search in spotlight, I can search for a word in all my files. For example for school I wanna know something about what I wrote down, but I don’t know anymore if I typed in GoodNotes or pages, I can find it within one search.

Option to Hide Nav Bar
Just as you can select the pen up option, you should be able to hide the nav bar while keeping the pen toolbar.

PLEASE put the "Back" menu back in GoodNotes 5!!!!
In both GoodNotes 4 and 5 PDF "Back" (last viewed page) links are broken. At least in GoodNotes 4 you had the option of jumping up to the menu and selecting "Go Back" from the navigation menu.
PLEASE either fix "Last Viewed Page" links (preferred) or re-enable the Go Back menu item. Without that jumping to a to-do list to add an item and then getting back to your notes page is really cumbersome. With it that workflow is super easy.

2 toolbars on iOS Goodnotes 5: option to make it 1 or hide 1 authomatically
The new Goodnotes 5 on iOS has 2 toolbars + tabs, which take up a lot of space on a horizontal iPad, and above all it is too distracting. Please create an option to either morph the 2 toolbars into one or to hide one automatically (probably the top one).

Hilfslinien und Raster einblenden/ ausblenden
Ich liebe diese App und benutze sie täglich in der Uni!
Eine Funktion, die mir fehlt ist, dass man in ein vorhandenes Dokument (in meinem Falle das vorlesungsskript) Hilfslinien oder ein raster einfügen kann. So könnte man ordentlich und gerade mitschreiben und wenn man fertig ist die Hilfslinien einfach wieder ausblenden. Das wäre großartig!17 votes -

Create a shortcut on the homescreen
Enable a way to create a shortcut on the homescreen on your device. So instead of having to open goodnotes and then your notebook, just be able to open your notebook directly from the homescreen of the device.

Zoom Window accidentally moving
There is a new way to move the zoom window when activated in GoodNotes 5 with just one finger. This is very annoying because most of the time, my palm is detected as a finger and the whole zoom window moves, so I lose focus.
In the GoodNotes 4 app, when you want to move the zoom window, you have to use two fingers. Therefore, there are no accidents moving the zoom window.
Please, stick with the GoodNotes 4 feature.

less space between icons / thumbnail view
Goodnotes 5:
Thumbnail view of the various notebooks as well as the thumbnail view of the pages within a notebook contains a lot of space between the thumbnails - wasting a lot of display area, and making it difficult to read the thumbnail content.
So: Use much less space between the thumbnails, and make them larger (check noteshelf 2, but make it even better i.e. with even less space than there!).23 votes -
