handwriting mindmap
Handwriting mindmap is soooo needed! there are few apps can do this, but if it is combined in goodnotes, i am sure there will be much more subscribers
The only app i can find with the features is Tmind.

Writing Tools in Main Toolbar
Thank you for improving the toolbar customisation with your latest updates to version 7.0.15.
However, it would be very helpful, if it would be possible to have the writing tools also integrated in the main toolbar. I use the laser, the fountain pen, the highlighter and the eraser for presenting slides in my lectures. To make working in GoodNotes smoother and more intuitive, it would be incredibly helpful to allow users to switch back to the previous toolbar layout. Many people are used to the old interface, and sudden design changes can interrupt established workflows. Offering an option to toggle between the new and previous toolbar would give users more control and make the transition easier — especially for those who rely on familiar tool placement to work efficiently.

double click to activate text box
There was a time, in a previous version, where I could double tap a mouse or trackpad and a text box would appear. It would be great if that could return as it makes for a more seamless experience.

audio
The audio playback feature is inconvenient because when I switch to another tab and come back, it doesn’t stay at the original playback position.

Lasso tool should please not activate automatically while writing (ie after drawing a line and clicking it to make it longer or shorter), requiring tapping the pen tool to return to writing

I found an issue where custom fonts installed on iOS (e.g., via the Bakey font app) do not appear in the font list when Goodnotes 6 uses the new Whiteboard-enabled UI.
Here are the details:
✔ Old UI (no Whiteboard option)
“New note” menu does not show the Whiteboard button
Font toolbar is in the top ribbon
Custom fonts appear normally
✔ New UI (with Whiteboard — released around Sep 25, 2025)
“New note” menu includes a Whiteboard button
Font toolbar becomes a floating popup near the text box

Bookmarks have been buried
Bring the bookmark icon back so it’s visible all of the time, and so that you can filter all pages and only see those that are bookmarked. I use a PDF planner on Goodnotes and visible bookmarks and filtering by bookmarks are critical to navigating a PDF planner with hundreds of pages.

Lasso Tool + Text Box + Shapes
For the lasso tool, be able to select shapes and handwriting because sometimes they are drawn together and when you want to move the whole thing, it only selects the shape (even though select shape + handwriting is on).
For the text box, have the grey box with the size, colour, etc. be somewhat transparent so that the underlying background can still somewhat be seen (helps when typing something that is said in the background).
For the shapes, have an option to not combine shapes when putting them on top of each other.

AirPlay Blurry Text and Images
This seems like a bug and it makes Goodnotes almost unusable for me. On my iPad I can see all the text and images fine, but on AirPlay, my students see a very pixelated version of all text and images.
This happens both on whiteboards and pages, which leads me to think that it has something to do with a parameter that you might have set for the render resolution. The render resolution is too low for the current zoom level.
This bug is making it really difficult to teach, could we potentially downgrade to an older version?

Partial Synchronizing
I've been using more and more files on Goodnote and I realized it would be great if we can select which files/folder to sync to other devices while keeping the rest locally. For 1, this saved much space in icloud, especially for those who has many files in Goodnote. For 2, people can have more freedom in synchronizing while having access to necessarily files in Goodnote on other devices.

audio recording accessory
Hi! After the latest GoodNotes 6 update, a small recording bar shows up on the top right when recording audio.
It’s fixed there, and since I’m right-handed, I keep accidentally touching it while writing — which stops the recording 😭
It would be great if we could move it or just have a small recording indicator in the main toolbar instead. That would make note-taking while recording so much easier!Thanks a lot for listening 💙

Enable Text Highlighting with Mouse on iPadOS
Dear Goodnotes Team,
I’d like to share some feedback regarding the use of a mouse in the iPadOS version of Goodnotes.
Currently, when using the app on a MacBook, it’s possible to highlight text with a mouse. However, on the iPad, this functionality is not available. If you’re using an iPad with a mouse and keyboard setup, you have to physically move the iPad closer, pick up the Apple Pencil, and only then can you highlight text.
This makes the experience less seamless, especially for users who prefer a desktop-like setup with their iPad.

Return underlining button
GN recently took away the ability to do straight underling in favor of holding the pen until it snaps into place. I do a lot of underlining of study projects, and that was my most used feature. Now it is gone and it takes much more time to have to hold the pen for a straight line to snap into place. What is wrong with adding that button back into the annotation mix?
