Optical Character Recognition
One of the best features for me were searchable PDFs in GoodNotes with the last update.
You could further enhance this experience, if you would add the ability to search your handwritten notes, too. I know this feature would be a lot of work, but you would get really close to Pro Note Tools like OneNote from Microsoft.

If I import a word document, typed, with searchable characters, when i export it none of the words in the PDF are searchable. You need to add an OCR scanning option so that the text is searchable. I understand the difficulty in applying this to handwriting but I don't understand why you haven't made it possible for the typed characters. Am I missing something here??

+1 for MyScript Memo integration. Could even be a paid addon like in NotesPlus

Christian, Have you tried 7notesHD? Extremely accurate. Handwriting recognition would make GoodNotes the PERFECT note taking app.

I've made this comment for another suggestion, but it applies here as well:
It might not be the place for a debate but quite frankly, all character recognition software I've used have been deeply un satisfying and less than reliable. I feel there are more important features to work on for this team than this one. My not so humble opinion. -

I suppose it is to merge with http://feedback.goodnotesapp.com/forums/191274-goodnotes-ideas/suggestions/3576870-optical-character-recognition
I add that the technology in MyScript Memo is also in another notetaking solution for iPad edited by another company, so I suppose they sell license for it :)

Just discovered MyScript Memo; have been a paid user of GoodNotes for several months.
I was able to scribble in MyScript Memo, have it digitize my chicken scratch (did an almost perfect job -- I'm impressed!), and then copy and paste the typed text into GoodNotes.
The interfaces for both apps are so similar, I was hoping they were from the same company. Alas, seems not to be.

I would buy it.
Maybe something from http://www.visionobjects.com/en/myscript/software-development-kits/ would help -
