Password protect

It would be great if you had an option to password protect a selected notebook in case you have to create one that would contain sensitive information.

Introducing Password Protection for your documents


To lock a document, tap on the context menu for the document in the library view and set a password. Anytime you try to open, export, duplicate, or delete the document, Goodnotes will ask you for the set password. If you’re using a device that supports FaceID or TouchID, you can use these instead of your password to unlock a document. Please note that you can have only one password that will apply to all locked notebooks and that Password Protection is only available in Goodnotes 6. Learn more


Update to version 6.4.2 in App Store to use Password Protection.

    Is goodnotes still considering password protection? This feature request has been voted more than 4000 times, imo, that’s a pretty decent number and I hope the developers add this feature soon!

    True! I write diaries on Good notes. This is needed. If Good notes has this feature, I’ve got nothing to say hands down the best app.

    I really hope you consider this option. I use Good notes for teaching and there is a lot of confidential information within my notebooks.

    Please consider this for the benefit of many other teachers who use your product

    You can write a python script for password protection, after exporting :P

    It would be really helpful for those who like to write their Dairy on GoodNotes but sharing their device with somebody else for example!

    Please please add a password protect feature as I like to use it for journaling and don’t like the idea it could be accessed

    This is paid app and such small feature is not supported since 2013 is really disappointing.
    I would just not recommend app to anyone look like real user feedback are not even taken into consideration.

    If you follow the entries in the forum, you will find that password protection has been desired since 2013 (!!). Without this, use via cloud services is unfortunately not recommended. As many have written before, this limits the use of the app very much, because with each sentence you have to consider whether you can write it down like this. It is completely incomprehensible to me why there is no improvement here.
