Password protect
It would be great if you had an option to password protect a selected notebook in case you have to create one that would contain sensitive information.
Introducing Password Protection for your documents
To lock a document, tap on the context menu for the document in the library view and set a password. Anytime you try to open, export, duplicate, or delete the document, Goodnotes will ask you for the set password. If you’re using a device that supports FaceID or TouchID, you can use these instead of your password to unlock a document. Please note that you can have only one password that will apply to all locked notebooks and that Password Protection is only available in Goodnotes 6. Learn more
Update to version 6.4.2 in App Store to use Password Protection.

Considering canceling subscription since password protection or Face ID is not available. I’m a teacher and like to use this at work as well as for personal use but I can’t do that and take the chance that a student, colleague, or random person will potentially have access to my personal information. Very sad that such a great app does not offer this basic feature.

I think Good notes should add zoom writing on Android good notes

Password protection is critical for me. I need to be able to specifically lock individual files so that they cannot be accessed. I’m absolutely FLOORED that users recommended this over 10 YEARS AGO and Goodnotes still has not moved on making this happen. I kind of want a refund so that I can take my business elsewhere, to a platform that already offers this critical feature. :(

This is such a basic feature that I'm very very surprised goodnotes does not offer it. Also, when I did a Google search it says good notes does offer it which was confusing. Please include this. Had I known goodnotes does not offer this, I would not have paid for this app

This was first suggested OVER a decade ago. 10 years and 8 months of y'all asking for password protection. 10 YEARS!! Use another app if you want password protection. Goodnotes will not be adding it.

Just one more user expressing complete bafflement at this app not offering password protection. Not even at the highest, most basic level: open app, require Face ID. With Face/Touch ID being baked into Apple OS’s for years now it can’t possibly be that hard to implement.
Basic feature.

Love the app. But because it doesn’t have a password protect is one reason i have to look elsewhere. So sad this hasn’t been put into to the new version. C’mon guys!

Create a feature to create password protection for notes and notebooks, this will help protect the privacy of the application more, other people borrowing the iPad will not be able to read important notes.

A decade after this post was made, password protection has still not been addressed by GoodNotes. With over 7.6k votes here, making it one of the top requested suggestions they have surely seen this post and known the demand for pw protection for years. Does this company not care about privacy?

For years, users have been asking for passwords to protect the contents of their notes. But the software publisher deliberately does not want to implement such a protection system because it would not have access to the content. This is very unfortunate and says a lot about the trust that should be placed in this application. It's a shame, because it's the best note-taking application out there. But without security, it's only good for writing your Christmas shopping list!

Really is a must. Just purchased and didn’t even bother to check before as it’s so obvious and I assumed it’s in. This is basically putting users under the ״not security concerned״ class - seriously.
Please help us be security aware and add this. Thank you. -

Baffled that a PW protect feature was not enabled from the MVP of goodnotes. Let's get it together, people.

Please Add this feature, as Not only me but lots of people use goodnotes for diary/journal purposes, which is extremely personal along with other things like notes which people can ask to see. I don’t want other to go through my diary notebook and other notebook that I consider quite personal.

Please add this feature. I have a couple of Journals that I’d like to protect from prying eyes.
