Password protect
It would be great if you had an option to password protect a selected notebook in case you have to create one that would contain sensitive information.
Introducing Password Protection for your documents
To lock a document, tap on the context menu for the document in the library view and set a password. Anytime you try to open, export, duplicate, or delete the document, Goodnotes will ask you for the set password. If you’re using a device that supports FaceID or TouchID, you can use these instead of your password to unlock a document. Please note that you can have only one password that will apply to all locked notebooks and that Password Protection is only available in Goodnotes 6. Learn more
Update to version 6.4.2 in App Store to use Password Protection.

Password protecting notebooks is the one option I used to have with other journaling apps that I wish I had with GoodNotes.

Having a security feature to notes helps to use it for various other purposes.

Why isn't this built in? Seems odd in the world we live in not to have some form of security however simple.

This is so far the only feature I have discovered that might force me to use another app for notes & planning. The reason why is because I may need to show and give my iPad to other people so they can look at something. I don't want to take the risk that they stumble on something. I have two kinds of notes: shared to all colleagues and restricted. Simple PIN/finger would be enough to prevent opening restricted notes inadvertently. I can make sure I have only one notebook open or you could give option to close other notebooks when opening a protected notebook to prevent tab switching. You could also allow opening multiple protected notebooks, but that maybe becomes too complex with all the rules on when to allow switching tabs without need to reauthorize.

Confidentiality is critical! Trying to go paperless is important as well, why I invested in this app, but if the app can't do what I need I will have to move on.

I'm using this app as diary, as well as notebook for study, music note, pdf reader. If developers want me to use this from now on, they should better add this feature as soon as possible.

I'd like this feature as well. I work with some confidential documents, so it would be helpful if the corresponding notes were secured as well.

It’s extremely unfortunate that a paid premium app like this doesn’t have such a basic feature. My organization (6000 people) just adopted Notability as our approved app because GoodNotes didn’t have password protection. For anyone reading, Notability does have password protect with FaceID.

Honestly, this app is so great, it’s ridiculous that it doesn’t have this feature. Even the free notes iPhone app can password protect specific notes. How can I use this for work if sensitive information is just flying around in the cloud without any protection? I see this was suggested in 2013. Come on, guys. Six years and you couldn’t add some encryption? Please don’t make me go back to iPhone Notes or Evernote...
