Password protect
It would be great if you had an option to password protect a selected notebook in case you have to create one that would contain sensitive information.

Introducing Password Protection for your documents
To lock a document, tap on the context menu for the document in the library view and set a password. Anytime you try to open, export, duplicate, or delete the document, Goodnotes will ask you for the set password. If you’re using a device that supports FaceID or TouchID, you can use these instead of your password to unlock a document. Please note that you can have only one password that will apply to all locked notebooks and that Password Protection is only available in Goodnotes 6. Learn more
Update to version 6.4.2 in App Store to use Password Protection.

It is silly for the developers to have ignored this request for so long, I guess they assume that if you are logged into the device, you have permission to access the goodnotes app... That is not really how it works.. Nor should it be, log into the device should NOT give/grant access to documents within an app.

At the very least I would like the option of password protecting the app itself. My only security measures at the moment are:
a) Burying sensitive information in nested, deceptively titled folders/notebooks.
b) Handwriting them in an obscure language for which handwriting recognition is not supported (in my sloppiest handwriting). It's getting silly now.

Today I wanted to switch to goodnotes v5 on ios (purchased version).
After I found out that there are no security measures for my notes, there was only one solution:Uninstall Goodnotes on all devices and return to the operating system's own Notes app.
Too bad about the money
This is a no-go in this day and age
Maybe I'll come back someday, as long as the password function has been built in, who knows...

I really need the password lock function seriously!

This is REALLY important to me. I have a couple notebooks I’d rather no one have access to without my permission.

The locking ability is critical to me. I’m not putting top secret information to hide from anyone, I just want some simple password protection so that my kids, friends, etc don’t accidentally open my life journal.

I get the very strong feeling that the developer has NO plans for this, not now, not ever in the next 120 months... Asking for password protection is never going to happen... Maybe they just have no idea what they are doing...which makes sense as GN5 is just poor...

Notability has the feature to password protect a folder and I love it, I would love for Goodnotes to have this too, this would allow me to better share my iPad with my students.

This is such a critical need for me; double-securing personal and work notes is highly important. Please, please add this in soon!

Critical if adding personal information. Otherwise will have to stop using the app.

I would like to be able to lock my notebooks and folders by passwords, for example, I use goodnotes for my diary and for some personal stuff, and people getting into your ipad means that now they can reach all your stuff inside goodnotes, so I really think that it is a good feature to add.

This was requested a decade ago. Come on, Abe Lincoln, let’s go.
