Password protect

It would be great if you had an option to password protect a selected notebook in case you have to create one that would contain sensitive information.

Introducing Password Protection for your documents


To lock a document, tap on the context menu for the document in the library view and set a password. Anytime you try to open, export, duplicate, or delete the document, Goodnotes will ask you for the set password. If you’re using a device that supports FaceID or TouchID, you can use these instead of your password to unlock a document. Please note that you can have only one password that will apply to all locked notebooks and that Password Protection is only available in Goodnotes 6. Learn more


Update to version 6.4.2 in App Store to use Password Protection.

    It's so good but I need a password and I would also like it to be more of a book format like a little program called Scrapnote thanks

    Best feature would be to allow past / finished notes to be locked to prevent accidental modification / deletion unless desired. Password / Touch ID would be fine for this but not essential in my view.

    Would love to see password protection on GoodNotes. Love the app and a password option would make it more than perfect. Thanks!

    I use Goodnotes all of the time for school and for work. I cannot use it for my own personal writing though because I cannot password protect a journal. Please add password protection as an option in the notebook options or when creating a notebook. Great app!

    I have to keep using Notes Plus for my journals because you don't have this feature. It's hard to keep going back and forth. I need Goodnotes because it supports link, so I feel stuck. PLEASE implement this ASAP! Thank you.

    Just add password protection asap!! Its such a lovely app but feels incomplete due to no password protection to individual notebooks.

    Password protection for certain files is completely necessary !!!

    Really needed this feature and finally after a year with Goodnotes, I can’t afford to feel insecure anymore— so I’m changing to Notability for now. Just let me know when you finally decide to implement this feature, since I would love to go back to goodnotes.
