Password protect

It would be great if you had an option to password protect a selected notebook in case you have to create one that would contain sensitive information.

Introducing Password Protection for your documents


To lock a document, tap on the context menu for the document in the library view and set a password. Anytime you try to open, export, duplicate, or delete the document, Goodnotes will ask you for the set password. If you’re using a device that supports FaceID or TouchID, you can use these instead of your password to unlock a document. Please note that you can have only one password that will apply to all locked notebooks and that Password Protection is only available in Goodnotes 6. Learn more


Update to version 6.4.2 in App Store to use Password Protection.

    ARE THERE ANY PLANS IN THE NEAR FUTURE TO MAKE THIS APP WORK WITH PASSWORD PROTECTED FILES??? WOULD APPRECIATE RESPONSE BECAUSE IF NOT I️ AM GOING TO HAVE TO FIND A DIFFERENT APP TO USE.

    Sounds like a great app, but I can't use it without this feature. Other notetaking apps have had this capability for years! Please implement it soon!!

    I can't use GoodNotes for work unless I'm able to secure sensitive data. It would be great, if you could even secure single categories with a password!

    1. Lock feature: I was thinking of the lasso tool having a feature to lock already written notes which helps for accidental erasing or writing while reviewing pre-written notes.
