Password protect

It would be great if you had an option to password protect a selected notebook in case you have to create one that would contain sensitive information.

Introducing Password Protection for your documents


To lock a document, tap on the context menu for the document in the library view and set a password. Anytime you try to open, export, duplicate, or delete the document, Goodnotes will ask you for the set password. If you’re using a device that supports FaceID or TouchID, you can use these instead of your password to unlock a document. Please note that you can have only one password that will apply to all locked notebooks and that Password Protection is only available in Goodnotes 6. Learn more


Update to version 6.4.2 in App Store to use Password Protection.

    Yes, please add password protect feature. Either for each document or for the entire app.

    Agree - This is a must have feature - one I’ve been waiting for since the early days. Surely it’s not that hard to implement on a per notebook basis? Or just let the whole app be locked down? Touch ID? Either way, some additional security would be most welcome.

    Please add Password Protection in notebook and also the PDF generate to Cloud Storage. It's important for business work.

    Password protection shouldn't even be up for discussion, it should be seen as an absolute necessity.

    I use this app as a healthcare provider and will have to switch to another app if password protection is not added. HIPAA laws make patient record confidentiality a must have priority. Please add this badly needed feature.
