Password protect
It would be great if you had an option to password protect a selected notebook in case you have to create one that would contain sensitive information.
Introducing Password Protection for your documents
To lock a document, tap on the context menu for the document in the library view and set a password. Anytime you try to open, export, duplicate, or delete the document, Goodnotes will ask you for the set password. If you’re using a device that supports FaceID or TouchID, you can use these instead of your password to unlock a document. Please note that you can have only one password that will apply to all locked notebooks and that Password Protection is only available in Goodnotes 6. Learn more
Update to version 6.4.2 in App Store to use Password Protection.

I have been using GoodNotes daily for over a year. Being unable to password protect documents really limits what I can do with the app. It is very obvious there is a huge public desire to have this feature implemented, yet 9 years later no development at all. I would love to keep using GoodNotes but if this feature isn’t added soon I might have to look at switching.

I’m user of goodnotes, I like this app, at the same time I use One note or Notability for password protection, because the GoodNotes doesn’t support it. Please please please develop this feature! :)

Some of my notes are highly sensitive, I need to keep them secured. Password locking or fingerprint /Face ID lock would be an immediate security improvement to this product.

Guys this is not hard to write into the app for Christ’s sake. At least give us an update, yes we’re working on it, no apple won’t let us, just some sort of update because this needs to be added.

A feature where we are able to lock and unlock chosen notebooks using password or face id. This is for sensitive and private notes that some users may not want others to see

Please !! …Because of the lock function, there are many Koreans who use other applications, so if you add that function, you will get more Korean users.

No 6000 here. Super app, but I was irritated that there is no way to use touchid/faceid or at least set a password. So I have to keep using this crappy OneNote for private stuff.

So so very frustrating ... I am going to need to switch to a new app if this doesn't get addressed soon.

basic password protection on whole app, certain folder and file should be easy and a standard offering. Encryption sure would be nice so we could store sensitive data here as well. Is the company reading these comments????

I am new to GoodNotes and I really like the look and interface but there is no password protection. I would like my sensitive documents to be secure and because it isn’t I’m looking elsewhere for another good note taking app. I also find it strange that this was requested in 2013 but never implemented. Can we at least have a reason why our documents can’t be protected? I’ve heard Notability allows it’s users to password protect documents so that’s where I’m headed.

The app is great but that password option takes away from it. To the point where I regret not looking into that before purchasing. I make sure to mention that when I recommend this app and have seen people shy away because of it.

I’m a new user and love the app so far. However, I’m surprised that this is not supported, and more so after seeing that the original feedback dates from 2013!
