Double-Page View / Split View / Side-by-side View
As a professional musician, GoodNotes is almost perfect for viewing and marking up sheet music both during rehearsals and performances! In my circle of friends and colleagues, GoodNotes is really becoming our go-to app! We unanimously agree that the only feature that is missing for viewing sheet music is the ability to view two pages at once (like an open book or in Mac's Preview "double-page viewing"). Is it possible that I'm just not seeing this feature?

We’re excited to announce that we have completed this feature. It is now available in the update GoodNotes 5.3 for iPadOS (13.1).
With the update, we added full support for iPadOS’ multiple windows. It lets you do much more than viewing two documents side by side. To read everything you need to know about opening multiple documents, please visit goodnotes.com/ipad-os.
How to open a new window:
You can now open GoodNotes in multiple windows to view two documents side by side, view two pages of the same document in Split View, or pair it with other apps in spaces across your entire system. To open a new window, drag any of the elements listed below to the side of your screen:
- the app icon from the dock
- documents from the library
- folders from the library
- individual pages from the document thumbnail view
- tabs from the tab-bar
You can also use the buttons in the library action menu or from the tab-bar to open a new window.

Please do this! The two windows implemented right now feels just like a work-around, not a solution!
This feature will be also *super-awesome* in the MacOS version of the app, since the screen size on it is almost always bigger than any iPad's screen and also practically always in "landscape" mode.
I'm currently using a 34'' and usually I have to switch app whenever on my Mac because I cannot stand the fact that I can just read one page at a time with GoodNotes. It's quite annoying!

Just realized it's been 7 years for Good note to not improve this.
All the comments are clear enough, can anyone from good note give us a valid reason of not doing the improvment? -

Yes!! I use Goodnotes for sheet music and the ability to see two pages at once and not have to scroll four (!!!) times to achieve this is so necessary. Their “workaround” of having two instances of Goodnotes opens means each side would have to be scrolled twice, and if I’m playing piano or an instrument, I don’t have the time to scroll that many times before my next note is coming up.

Actually sewing 2pages means wanna see 2 pages by one window like the file I attached.
Almost every document application serve that function.
When I paid for Goodnotes first time, it wasn't good enough and now it is popular so I'm trying to use it again but there are still some inconveniences.
I hope you try to fix it for the customers. -

I would like to voice support for 2-page view (open like a book), which is NOT the same thing as opening GoodNotes in multiple windows. Please add this. I am also a teacher/musician/scholar and would find this so valuable.
I regularly use inferior annotation apps like PDF expert because GoodNotes lacks this basic capability.

YES so I could use/make planners in Landscape AND Portrait MODE , as well..Without having to decide in advance..while buying them this or that way, and being restricted then either way--( bulletjournaling)

What we want is a two-page view in one window, NOT an one-page view in multiple windows like currently implemented. ‘Flexcil 2’ supports this, and it’s like reading a book in real life. You can refer to the image attached.

See two sequential pages from the same notebook on one screen. Similar to 2-page scroll in Adobe Acrobat or Mac Preview.
Using the split screen mode in iPad OS 13 doesn't work because you have to manually scroll each window two pages at a time which is awkward -

The 1st request is that I would like to be able to view multiple pages in the same notebook in facing pages or tabs.
Especially, in planner and schedule management notebooks, I always compare and refer to multiple pages while writing and grasping, so the bookmarking back and forth is not enough to cover my needs. -

So many comments about the same thing. Yet developers shut their ears off (or their fingers while writing the code) .
This is a basic feature which has been demanded, not something advanced or high level.
How badly I wanted to like and highlight each of the below mentioned requests by various users.
Please listen to your customers. You are because they are.

When I play the piano, I need to see as much as I can. On my 12.9 iPad, I therefore would be happy to see 2 sheets at once and when I scroll, I'll see the next 2 sheets. Can this be done?

Yes, 2 page view within the app is desperately needed. I would use this feature daily for study, teaching and music.

The fact that this has been requested hundreds of times in multiple posts over the past 8 years, yet nothing has been done is quite sad. It is clear this is a desired functionality that other apps have figured out how to provide. The two-window solution simply doesn’t work in every situation, otherwise there wouldn’t be so many people requesting the two-page view. Please make this happen!

We need a new template like an open book with two pages side by side. It is better for the visual memory so add it fast please. You can do it to be automatic comes with flipping the screen.

Yes, I’m a musician (and educator) too, and it was in doing a Google search to see if there was a way to view 2 pages side-by-side in Goodnotes that I stumbled upon this thread... so I STRONGLY support adding this functionality. As some other musicians mentioned, it’s really a must for us, and this app is so great in many other ways (I’m sure I’m not the only one that has a sheet of music-lined staff paper as their default template, lol)! But the lack of 2-page view is a deal breaker for many usages, unfortunately. Every pianist, conductor, and composer (at minimum) will thank you!
