Button to jump from file navigator back to open notes
There ought to be a way to switch back and forth between the file navigator utility and your open notes. If you go to the file navigator now, you have to select a file to go back to the viewing/editing part of the app. You must either open a new notebook/note, or select one you already have open. It can be time-consuming to navigate back to the file you already have open after exploring your folders, and it is annoying to open up a file unnecessarily just to go back to the editing/viewing pane.
Thanks for sharing your feedback. We’ll see how we can make it easier in the future. For now, you can find a list of recently opened documents when you open the Search tab in the library.

Is this still not implemented in 2024? Good god

When I exit the app it takes me back to the main folder, not where I was the last time I used the app

Crazy that this idea is from 2020 and it is still not implemented. Goodnotes is almost there, but has critical design faults like this one.

I should have looked this up before purchasing. It is the most annoying thing EVER. I am in grad school and I use this app almost all day. Does anyone know if the other notetaking apps force you to go through this as well? It's worth buying another one at this point. Do I want to? No. But I will.

3 years later, and this _extremely basic_ UI / UX flaw has not been fixed.
It's very frustrating for people who use this app for lots of documents (i.e. paying customers). Please just add it. A simple 'view switcher' (file explorer <—> currently open tabs) should not cost the programming team much effort at all.

this is the biggest drawback to the app, when you are a regular user!

Just add a little cross somewhere to close the navigator! It‘s not so hard to implement and just quite annoying without it now! Thanks!

+1. This is very irritating. A strange omission on an otherwise flawless app.

Yes!! I agree to this. It's very inconvenient to open another file just to go to the currently opened files
