This has been the most requested feature on Goodnotes...wonder why this is taking so long to be implemented!

I would strongly support the idea of adding audio to handwritten notes. Before I started using an iPad & Goodnotes, I had a special pen that recorded audio while I wrote. The key thing was the ability to play the sound from the point when you wrote a note. Whether it is a lecture or a business meeting, being able to go quickly to the point in the audio and start from the point you wrote "that" word was very useful.

Yes, please add it! Make it as a gift to your customers, who are getting crazy in homeoffice and need a good workflow in their favorite app :)

Yes, please add it! Like other's are saying, if audio was added, GoodNotes over Notability would be a no brainer.

As a university student, audio is 100% a deal-breaker. I would definitely choose GoodNotes over Notability if it had the audio option as it is crucial during long note-taking sessions, thus until audio recording is added I will have to go with Notability.

I am getting an iPad to start taking digital notes for the upcoming school year. I am considering both GoodNotes and Notability to take my notes. If GoodNotes adds the audio feature, this will be a very easy decision for me to make. The organization, artistic capabilities, and style of GoodNotes is vastly superior (in my opinion) to Notability. However, as a STEM student, access to the audio/text synchronization may be worth sacrificing the other features. Please add this GoodNotes! I would much prefer to use your app if this was available!

Among my friends in campus taking notes on our iPads, we all agree that the only feature that make notability an alternative to goodnotes is the fact that you can record in that app. It is awesome, in order to make sure you doesn't miss anything the teacher are saying. If goodnote had this feature we all agree that the app is better than notability.

I’ve added my vote as well. I’ve moved from OneNote on a surface tablet to iPad pro and miss the ability to record audio while taking notes.

Please consider adding this feature as soon as possible. I prefer using GoodNotes but switch to notability when I need audio recordings.

Basically I just switched from Notability to GoodNotes 5 and... I love it!

While researching its capabilities I ran into a lack of feature that I’ve been using A LOT in Notability, which is a synchronized audio recording, which is amazing there and is something ESSENTIAL to anyone taking notes while noting something, both in schools and in corporate trainings and basically in any other seminar where one would need some richer grasping of something IMPORTANT. 🙂

And due to this I have a dilemma: I LONG TO STAY with GoodNotes and recommend it as the #1 Note taking app to my friends and family, but I can’t do this and I either will have to split somehow between GoodNotes and Notability or stay with Notability until you implement this feature, because I fear to not grasp something important with audio when I need it. Because switching between the apps while already noting a seminar won’t do... I will have to decide beforehand (which is sometimes impossible) or stay with Notability, which is painful for me as sincerely I love your app better 😞

PS: if you read comments AND are considering or already (secretely) working on this feature. In Notability synchronization is not perfect: within the document I don’t see if there is an audio to what I noted or not, unless I go to audio and check with each audio track (that also show no reference to the text until I check it). So you might as well consider this when (if) you will be adding this feature altogether.

Hey Goodnotes, I start school in the fal and I just purchased goodnotes on my iPad, and I kind of regret it because I don’t have large audio feature and all my friends have it. Your app is so much better than notibility, but that audio is a deal breaker. If you add I would feel much better abou to my purchase. Thanks

I need this asap for university please, I'm even considering to move over to noteability just for this feature only but since I''m a student I don't have a lot of money to spend.

With over 6K votes and one of the biggest reasons why Notability is chosen over GN by many of us (me included), I would think this would be a higher priority. I tested multiple apps and ended up choosing Notability just for the fact that I can record audio aligned with my notes - life changing and has caused many co-workers to follow. The highlighter used to be better on GN, but Notability matched it. Is GN going to match the audio recordings?

I prefer your app but had to change to notability for this feature. It’s essential for courses and I wish you would add it so I could switch back!

I want to use GN, but I need notability's record feature! I have a lot of difficult courses coming up and the ability to record is a game-changer. This has also been echoed across YouTube reviews and is apparently quite popular here... what are you waiting for?
