Audio recording that syncs with handwritten notes
We need linked audio recording so that we won't miss anything in the class or in meetings!
The reason behind the success of NOTABILITY is the audio recording functionality, I use notability just for that!
Please add it.

Yeah, please implement it for us.

Hope you guys add recording soon. Need it for school ASAP! So many people has been asking this since 2014! I might as well join the Notability fans

Hey guys, I'm a new iPad user and was doing some research to choose between Notability and GN5. I ended up buying notability (sorry) and the sole reason was audio-recording capability (I'm still not sure if I ever use it but it's nice to have the option). You've done a great job overall in GN5 and if at some point you add audio-recording I personally would use GN. Great job btw. cheers

Audio feedback with a highlight feature that matches up to the notes you took could be helpful. If possible if you are going over notes selecting written notes and it takes you to a specific time stamp (15 seconds prior to) in the audio file would be very useful as well. Can’t wait for it to go live for conferences and professional development seminars I use good notes often but sometimes switch to notability if I want to reference back to material

This really is a must have feature for GoodNotes 5! Please add it ASAP. We volume purchase licences and they're all going to Notability because it has this feature. Otherwise, GN5 for the win!

Lo único que le falta a Goodnotes 5 para ser considerada la aplicación número uno en la toma de notas es la característica de grabación de audio y la posibilidad de insertar audio mp3; sin dudas sería un gran avance que consolidaría definitivamente esta app como la Reina !

An ability to import an mp3 or audio file from a digital recorder would be cool too (and some tools to match it up)

AUDIO RECORDING is very helpful function during documenting, meetings and conferences. That could be really more interesting, if one may let this function to be running in background as hidden mode, which will be then simply manageable just from “Add +” menu. The hidden recording is very important, when one would like to have a presentation as well as let the audience focus and concentrate just on Text-writing and drawing but not on the notifications of recording.
The control management of recording could be defined optionally as following functions:
1- time-stamping
2- active for current sheet or whole document
3- automatically deactive by changing or closing document
4- move, copy and assign to any part of text
5- pause, continue, stop, edit, cut and save as new
6- export and import audio as folder or as a file -

Make imported files with links clickable, please and add audio recordings to GoodNotes 5. Note: I’m using a iPad Pro 11 device.

audio recording would be great but Audio Import is an essential for learning languages.
I'm learning Chinese, but any language learner will need to grab audio files to import in to notes. After class everyday, my teacher will send to me a short recording which I am required to transcribe for my homework.
Being able to put this file into the note and be able to play back while I am writing would be fantastic. At the moment only Notability seems to do this, but this app falls short in many other areas.

I use GoodNotes mainly for taking notes during meetings, AUDIO RECORDING will be a great tool for me. For important meetings, I have to use Notability because of its audio recording feature.

Being able to index the audio quickly is key ... something like, tap a button to mark the TimeCode of the recording - a marker is left on the notes ... tapping the marker takes you to that spot in the recording - or 10 sec earlier...

This is great to hear this is in the works. I remember posting on this a while ago when I was in college. To this day I still use GoodNotes (now with a proper working Apple Pen and not fighting with a rubber stylus) but this feature would come in handy when I do meetings or interviews now.

While I like being able to record audio with timestamping and agree that it would be nice to have, the person recording MUST BE AWARE that there are laws that prohibit the use of recording devices when the subject is either not aware of being recorded or has not given consent. The laws are pretty strict in the EU countries.
For this reason, I do not think that this should be a high priority.

Hi @Admin @Goodnotes Mod - Received your survey/form questions as you're looking/developing the feature. THANK YOU!

Notability has this feature and it is tempting me to switch from GoodNotes 4&5 that I currently use.

I would like to imbed audiophiles into my notes to help with pronunciation.

Note sure why this would be a deal breaker, for me notes are the key unless you could convert the audio to text. !
