Implement a splitscreen option.
The splitscreens option allows the user to see two pages of one document at once. With this option the user can open an informative pdf on the one side while taking notes on a different sheet on the other side.

We’re excited to announce that we have completed this feature. It is now available in the update GoodNotes 5.3 for iPadOS (13.1).
With the update, we added full support for iPadOS’ multiple windows. It lets you do much more than viewing two documents side by side. To read everything you need to know about opening multiple documents, please visit goodnotes.com/ipad-os.
How to open a new window:
You can now open GoodNotes in multiple windows to view two documents side by side, view two pages of the same document in Split View, or pair it with other apps in spaces across your entire system. To open a new window, drag any of the elements listed below to the side of your screen:
- the app icon from the dock
- documents from the library
- folders from the library
- individual pages from the document thumbnail view
- tabs from the tab-bar
You can also use the buttons in the library action menu or from the tab-bar to open a new window.

tbh it's better than none but still far away from the real split-view function like notability, which allows you to resize the windows with more flexibility and get access to both windows within one toolkit and control system. I don't know whether I should feel excited about the improvement via the help of the new Apple system or a bit disappointed with the expectation that Goodnotes can never provide a notability-like split-view function.

I was just signing in to ask for this feature. I would love to be able to have 2 different notes up side by side. I love to use Goodnotes to annotate my pdfs, but I often need to take notes on what I am reading as well and the margins just aren't good enough. Switching tabs isn't great for my work flow.

I am DYING for a split screen within goodnotes! I would love to be able to take notes while reading in goodnotes! This would be especially helpful when trying to make study guides- which I could use right now!

I want to be able to view more than one good notes file that I’m working on at once to be able to compare information, I’m asking for multitasking the same app twice. One document from GoodNotes on the left and another document from GoodNotes on the right.
