Implement a splitscreen option.
The splitscreens option allows the user to see two pages of one document at once. With this option the user can open an informative pdf on the one side while taking notes on a different sheet on the other side.
We’re excited to announce that we have completed this feature. It is now available in the update GoodNotes 5.3 for iPadOS (13.1).
With the update, we added full support for iPadOS’ multiple windows. It lets you do much more than viewing two documents side by side. To read everything you need to know about opening multiple documents, please visit goodnotes.com/ipad-os.
How to open a new window:
You can now open GoodNotes in multiple windows to view two documents side by side, view two pages of the same document in Split View, or pair it with other apps in spaces across your entire system. To open a new window, drag any of the elements listed below to the side of your screen:
- the app icon from the dock
- documents from the library
- folders from the library
- individual pages from the document thumbnail view
- tabs from the tab-bar
You can also use the buttons in the library action menu or from the tab-bar to open a new window.

Please, you released today GoodNotes 5 and we still can’t have this option? It is getting ridiculous. We need this

I would like to drag and drop items between two open pages.

When we are using tabs in GoodNotes 5 what if we can using splitview in landscape mode just like we can with the tabs in the Apple Safari app?

I'm another big fan of procreate's "two finger tap" model. It quickly becomes second nature. "Three fingers to redo" is also a key part of this.

This is a critical functionality that is missing. Please add asap! My whole company uses goodnotes.

Why is this still not an option?? It is a necessity and I am looking at other apps because it does not appear to be a priority even though it has been requested since 2014.

I would love to see this feature, especially for using a monthly planner (where the month is on 2 pages).

Procreate released their double tap programming language to share with other app developers.

Maybe I am wrong, but to me this feature reads exactly as the feature "Implement a splitscreen option.", which is already planned for the next release.
If I am right: Please merge the two feature requests into one, adding the votes together.

This would make what I do so much more efficient. Currently when giving Class Notes and examples, I freeze the window on Apple TV, switch to my master notes that I exported earlier to check what comes next, then go back to GoodNotes, unfreeze and continue with Class Notes. Having 2 windows open with only one viewable to the class would be perfect.

Yes this would be awesome. I wrote questions on one page and want to put answers on another. Like a regular notebook.

I have had this app for over a year and decided to check here for updates on split screens. Now I am going to Notability and will transfer my info. They are obviously more in tune with their users. I will not beg like others have.
