Implement a splitscreen option.
The splitscreens option allows the user to see two pages of one document at once. With this option the user can open an informative pdf on the one side while taking notes on a different sheet on the other side.
We’re excited to announce that we have completed this feature. It is now available in the update GoodNotes 5.3 for iPadOS (13.1).
With the update, we added full support for iPadOS’ multiple windows. It lets you do much more than viewing two documents side by side. To read everything you need to know about opening multiple documents, please visit goodnotes.com/ipad-os.
How to open a new window:
You can now open GoodNotes in multiple windows to view two documents side by side, view two pages of the same document in Split View, or pair it with other apps in spaces across your entire system. To open a new window, drag any of the elements listed below to the side of your screen:
- the app icon from the dock
- documents from the library
- folders from the library
- individual pages from the document thumbnail view
- tabs from the tab-bar
You can also use the buttons in the library action menu or from the tab-bar to open a new window.

It would be the most amazing feature if there was a splitscreen for two good-notes documents/files at once (to better compare files). Please please please bring in that feature! :-)

Two finger tap to undo would be a life-saver! I spend a lot of time switching between Procreate and GoodNotes, and I can't tell you how many times I've tried a two-finger tap (sometimes repeatedly) wondering why it won't undo.

As a teacher I would LOVE to see this. I often need to see two pages at a time for planning. I downloaded google notes specifically for planning but find myself using keynote.

This would be a great new feature. I am constantly switching tabs to refer to notes, or articles in another document.

Not sure guys, this could be detrimental if activated by mistake. I don't want to be careful what/how to touch, I want to focus on what i'm writing and not on how the app could interpret my writing. The undo button is always there, easy to reach and impossible to mistake. If you do this, make it possible to disable.

I’ve tried the screen split in two on Notability and it works well, not to small for me.I’m dying to use that on Goodnotes!

I too would rather have continuous pages rather than a split screen

It would be better that not only from two different notebooks but also from the same one, two copies side by side

(another theoretical physicist here)
While I don't oppose having a split view inside GoodNotes, I wouldn't see it as a high priority. Much of the problem could be solved by adding vertical scrolling, so that one could have parts of two consecutive pages on the screen. Also, there are rumors that Apple will allow multiple copies of the same app to run side-by-side in split view, so we might actually get this for free. Lastly, if one of the split views is "for reference", one could just export the document into a separate pdf viewer app. -

Hi - I would like to be able to view 2 pages side by side. It looks like back a year ago this feature was expected. Is there a newer version since I can't see how to do this in the version I am using?

I dont think split view will be of much use.
I tried split view from a note taking app recently but even on my 10.5 inch ipad split view makes individual screen smaller. -

I have noticed that there was an update to goodnotes that was said to resolve this feature. I still encounter this problem though. Notebooks still need to be downloaded (opened) in advance and sometimes don't open without a wifi connection. What about a simple toggle to make selected notes available offline.

it is very convenient for students and teachers to be able to open 2 PDF at the same time in the app so we don`t have to open 2 apps and sync duplicate documents to different app
