Implement a splitscreen option.

The splitscreens option allows the user to see two pages of one document at once. With this option the user can open an informative pdf on the one side while taking notes on a different sheet on the other side.

We’re excited to announce that we have completed this feature. It is now available in the update GoodNotes 5.3 for iPadOS (13.1).

With the update, we added full support for iPadOS’ multiple windows. It lets you do much more than viewing two documents side by side. To read everything you need to know about opening multiple documents, please visit goodnotes.com/ipad-os.

How to open a new window:

You can now open GoodNotes in multiple windows to view two documents side by side, view two pages of the same document in Split View, or pair it with other apps in spaces across your entire system. To open a new window, drag any of the elements listed below to the side of your screen:

- the app icon from the dock
- documents from the library
- folders from the library
- individual pages from the document thumbnail view
- tabs from the tab-bar

You can also use the buttons in the library action menu or from the tab-bar to open a new window.

    Opening a PDF one on side, and taking notes on the other side is great, but being able to browse any website on one side and take notes on the other side would be even better.

    Two different notebooks side by side is nice, but 2 pages in the same notebook side by side is also a must. For example, when doing long calculations in one of my physics notebooks, I need to see the calculation on the previous page to continue. Not in a different notebook.

    I am doing a lot of maths too, and I need to see the formulas on the previous page when I work on the current page. Can you add a feature to see 2 pages side by side in landscape mode?

    Will certainly help a lot to have this feature... now with split screen in iPad Pro, it is a must have in Good Notes

    please make the toolbar movable/relocatable to the bottom of the screen or right side of the screen. as a lefty i always touch the tools in the toolbar at the top of the screen. even greater would be a pop up tool bar (circular) that pops up all the tools when pressed on and minimizes after a selection is made. the minimized icon then be movable on screen.

    Still waiting. Unless I've missed it. When implemented, side by side viewing working between two notebooks work be a phenomenal step up.

    Of Course, having their text recognition in GoodNotes would be even better...

    Add the ability to import a PDF page by "scanning" a document from camera, similar to many other PDF scanners in the App Store today. Include the ability to trim the margins, save in grayscale, B/W, etc. This would save one more step from saving my written notes into GoodNotes. Thanks.

    Please provide the option to open two Goodnotes documents side-by-side. Current capability allows me to jump between tabbed documents but I am unable to view both side-by-side.

    I’d like to see an update with the ability to open two pages adjacent side by side, like Microsoft Word, for example, to have a continuous view of the current page and the previous, making it more like a traditional notebook for a better experience in overall view of the notes i’m Currently taking.
