Implement a splitscreen option.
The splitscreens option allows the user to see two pages of one document at once. With this option the user can open an informative pdf on the one side while taking notes on a different sheet on the other side.
We’re excited to announce that we have completed this feature. It is now available in the update GoodNotes 5.3 for iPadOS (13.1).
With the update, we added full support for iPadOS’ multiple windows. It lets you do much more than viewing two documents side by side. To read everything you need to know about opening multiple documents, please visit goodnotes.com/ipad-os.
How to open a new window:
You can now open GoodNotes in multiple windows to view two documents side by side, view two pages of the same document in Split View, or pair it with other apps in spaces across your entire system. To open a new window, drag any of the elements listed below to the side of your screen:
- the app icon from the dock
- documents from the library
- folders from the library
- individual pages from the document thumbnail view
- tabs from the tab-bar
You can also use the buttons in the library action menu or from the tab-bar to open a new window.

I switched to notability because of this. Who knows how well this will be implemented in the new iOS, or if it will work well. It already works well in Notability.

Note : apparently this feature of split screen won’t be necessary with the new iPados. Indeed, we will be able to have the same app twice as split screen view.

GoodNotes is more and more used for digital planning using stickers (which are usually in a separate notebook), it would we good to be able to have too notebook tabs open in split view at the same time.

It would be great if there was a feature that automatically creates a summary of my document when I mark the sentences. So: I mark sentences in a document, and those sentences I have marked are saved in a document

The responded! They said they will add this feature after apple release iPadOS 13, with a system wide split-screen option.

Yes please! Other apps already do it. Like in Forscore. Viewing two adjacent A4 pages in landscape mode please.

Does no reply mean it won’t be implemented anytime soon?

Wouldnt this feature now be available as part of IPADOS 13, where multiple instances of the same application and therefore putting two of them next to each other will be possible.?
So, while it was necessary before, IPADOS 13 will allow us to have split screen equivalent natively. -

I want to be able to read my documents as a book with 2 pages side by side. Maybe viewing options and editing options seperately is okay
