Implement a splitscreen option.
The splitscreens option allows the user to see two pages of one document at once. With this option the user can open an informative pdf on the one side while taking notes on a different sheet on the other side.
We’re excited to announce that we have completed this feature. It is now available in the update GoodNotes 5.3 for iPadOS (13.1).
With the update, we added full support for iPadOS’ multiple windows. It lets you do much more than viewing two documents side by side. To read everything you need to know about opening multiple documents, please visit goodnotes.com/ipad-os.
How to open a new window:
You can now open GoodNotes in multiple windows to view two documents side by side, view two pages of the same document in Split View, or pair it with other apps in spaces across your entire system. To open a new window, drag any of the elements listed below to the side of your screen:
- the app icon from the dock
- documents from the library
- folders from the library
- individual pages from the document thumbnail view
- tabs from the tab-bar
You can also use the buttons in the library action menu or from the tab-bar to open a new window.

Yes, please. The ability to work on two notes at the same time is necessary for my schoolwork. As it stands now I have to use two different apps. I would much rather stay in GoodNotes.

Yes please!! This would make a fantastic collaboration tool - it doesn't need to be live where I can see the other person working but I would love a way to work in the same notebook as someone else and when I make changes have them pushed to the other person's device via iCloud or dropbox etc...

Yes please!! It is so frustrating to not be able to multitask by viewing 2 files at once within the app

Just like the split-view option we have on Safari with the tabs. Love it, definitely will be making Goodnotes more powerful than what it already is.

This isn't necessary. We already have tabs that only take a split second to swap between documents. Please place focus and energy elsewhere!

I import my PDFs from grad school and take notes on them, but when it comes time to study for exams I need to be able to make summary pages for each lecture. It would be great to be able to open two notebooks at once!

When doing math calculations, it would be very useful to see the contents of the previous page instead of constantly turning page. In landscape mode this should work pretty easily.

This would greatly increase usability. Having the ability to view one document (such as a school .pdf) while working on my notes would add tremendous power.
Currently I must use the program GoodReader and the ios split view.
I would prefer to keep everything in GoodNotes. -

i have to open goodreader to see a textbook while i take notes on it. this would be far better, as i could cut and paste elements of my book into my notes.

It simply is the best app I've ever had, truly. But please please dvelop a two page view. I use it for scripts and I'd really love to have the script page on one side and to be able to use a note page next to it. Pleeeeeeese..

It would be so cool to have the possibility to split the screen to work on two document at the same time. Or just work on one document but have the possibility to just see another one. Like having two sessions in one frame.
Thank you
