Notes for Notebooks
Imagine having a notebook for a specific subject like gravity in physics. Having to look up the formulas is unnecessary and requires to open two goodnote windows. What if there was a drop down or draggable smaller window that shows them specific for the notebooks with own written notes?

Pen and drawing tool
The same colour and size is selected while annotating for Pen tool and Drawing Box/circle/shape tool by default . I hope the team works on this in future updates and lets users have separate colours for each tool and not necessarily default choice, so each time we switch tools it doesn’t hamper the flow

searchable screenshots
The #1 reason I use goodnotes instead of paper for taking notes is the ability to paste screenshots from my Mac directly into my notes.
If these screenshots were searchable that would completely change the game.6 votes -
Slow export of large goodnotes as editable pdf
It takes lots of time to export large handwritten note files with images -- in editable pdf format -- goodnotes almost freezes for a minute. Need further updates to improve the processing of notes with images.

Enhancing Precision and Customization: Improving Highlighter and Pen Thickness Options
As a dedicated user of GoodNotes, I have been exploring the app's features and functionality, and I believe there is an opportunity to improve the app's highlighter and pen thickness options. Currently, the available thickness sizes are limited, and it can be challenging to find the ideal thickness size for specific note-taking situations. This can have a significant impact on the user experience, making it difficult to achieve the desired level of precision and accuracy.
Therefore, I suggest that GoodNotes consider expanding the range of available thickness sizes for both highlighters and pens. Alternatively, it would be helpful to have the option to manually enter and select a custom thickness size. This would provide users with greater control and flexibility over their note-taking experience, resulting in increased productivity and efficiency.
In addition, it would be great to have an option to control and change the slider increment size for pen thickness settings. Currently, the increment size is set at 0.05mm, which may not be ideal for all users. Allowing users to customize the slider increment size would enable them to fine-tune the pen thickness settings to suit their individual preferences and needs.
By implementing these suggestions, GoodNotes could enhance the user experience, making the app even more versatile and user-friendly.

Markup image based Flashcards
When you import an image as a flash card you can’t write on it at all with a pen. While you could edit the image before importing it, it would help if you could import say a labelled diagram of a cell and you could blackout one individual label and put the label as the answer on the other side of the flash card. This could help you with one diagram making easily 6+ Flashcards in a minute directly from lecture notes making it a lot easier.

Reversible Flashcards
Having either side of the flash card possibly show up in the deck, and you would have to recall the other side. An example would be learning German and you need to know how to translate English to German but also German to English. So you would only have to make one flash card for recalling the word in both “directions”.

Change stroke thickness by swiping up/down on size selector icon
I use the stroke thickness A LOT.
The new update has hidden the stroke width selectors.
I understand that you need the space for more colors, and am fine with the updated setup.A “swipe up/down on icon” gesture to change the stroke’s thickness solves my problem pretty well, without needing a buttons and layout redesign.
The current 2 tap design has killed off my speed. I didn’t realise that a single additional tap would derail me so much.

Lots of Changes: More pens, pen streamline, more color favorites, no overlap highlighters, fill shape
It would be very nice if there could be many features added like more pen options like marker, pencil, calligraphy, etc. it would also be nice if there could be a streamline feature so that when you write, the handwriting isn’t so “jerky” or “jittery.” It would also be nice if the highlighters didn’t overlap.

iCloud folder directly in GoodNotes
Don't always download files from iCloud and then load them back into Goodnotes. Where is the sense? Direct folder linking from iCloud folders in GoodNotes 5 would improve the work process enormously. For example, open PDF files directly and edit them in GN and then close them with one click and everything is saved in iCloud again.

Detachable color palette for pen and marker
Detatch the color palette for markers and pens so you can change colors quickly and move wherever you want. The palette could be moved freely and displayed vertically or horizontally. The background could be translucent but the colors in the palette could be shown correctly (rn Night mode shows highlighters colors in a weird way)

Flash card management
Currently the flash card is shown in the same document, so one needs to open different notebooks to read flashcards in them.it will be very beneficial if all the flash cards from different notebooks appear at a single place so that space repetition can be utilised at a single place in a better way.

delete note in whole page
Goodnote provide 'delete page' now (green box in attached picture).
It removes all note on the current page.I want expanded function.
1. delete broader range - like delete whole document removal
2. delete mode - choose between pen or highlighter1 vote -
non-remain pen
How about making 'non remain pen'?
Sometimes I solve problems by Goodnote.
I solve the same problem over and over again for practice.
I only mark the score, so I want to remove my solution.A pen that doesn't remain on the document will help.
Like 'closing the file without save' pen1 vote -
back-linking similar to obsidian
Tool to highlight specific words/phrases/diagrams and back-link them all together. Would work similar to the search function for words but would allow you to create faster connections between ideas by simply clicking on the linked text in the note.
Could even automatically take all back linked pieces of text and combine into one temporary page.

New Eraser Hotkey
I really like how on Super note to erase, you just hold two fingers on the screen and then start erasing anything you want. It is tiring to constantly double tap to erase one character, and it takes too long to tap the eraser icon to erase more than one character.
