Improving Flashcard Functionality
The flashcard feature is great but there are a few features that I would like to see:
1.) Ability to switch the Q&A sections
After a few weeks of using this feature, there are times when I would like to flip the Q and A section of the flashcards.
2.) Convert any page into a flashcard
I've created a PDF file (around 60 pages) to be turned into flashcards and was hoping to be able to import it and just convert it from there. This was not possible and I had to make a template for each page, set it as a flashcard, and then put it a notebook, just to be able to use it a flashcard.
3.) Being able to select with flashcards will be studied.
My flashcards also serves as my notes and I keep similar notes in one notebook. I would like the ability to choose which flashcards to include in a study session and which ones to exclude. Maybe integrate it into the outline feature?

Shortcut for line size
I do a lot of math and when creating equations I like to make exponents, subs or even small corrections a different line width for them to stand out. It would be very helpful to be able to to use the pencil tap shortcut on Apple Pencil to change the line width and even the color instead of having to constantly reach up to the selection menu to switch back and forth. I have attached a screenshot of a very long problem that I have solved using method as an example of what I’m referring to and how useful it is to do this especially with longer equations. This is something that I have found is particularly useful for learning math

Phsical Mouse Wheel Scrolling on the Mac Version
The mouse wheel scrolling work within the IU, the menu, the thumbnail view, etc. Yet it DOES NOT work on the notebook contents. It even works on the iPad but it DOES NOT work on the Mac version.

Linking to Sections of PDFs, Other Notes, Folders & Bookmarks
I'd love the ability to hyperlink text or icons within a note to certain sections of a pdf for quick reference.
For instance, if I am writing a note about a project, I would like the ability to add hyperlinked text or icons, where when pressed, I am taken directly to a specific section of a pdf.
Of the hundreds of pdfs I have saved in my iphone/ipad, there's ever only about a single page within the pdf that's relevant. If I were able to introduce those pages within Goodreads by hyperlinking text, I'd be able to put into context all those pdfs (including pdf's of websites/article).
I'd also like the ability to hyperlink text/icons within a note directly to either another note, folder or a specific section within a separate note. This would help me avoid repetition.
Lastly, I have an extensive folder bookmarks folder structure. It would be helpful to link certain text to my bookmarks manager, specific bookmark folders (to view related content), or specific sections within the links themselves.
If GoodNotes did all these things, then it will have successfully merged individual notetaking with published content and the internet. Please solve this!

Make the stylus/brush design used for the laser writing a regular pen stylus
Everyone I know loves the stylus used for the laser pointer writing feature but its not actually a stylus you can use to write notes!! That pen style is so nice and I would love to write my notes with it!

Let user be able to customize the keyboard shortcut
The situation is
- some user who use secondary language need to switch back to EN before they can use keyboard shortcut
- some use prefer to use Cmd+1, Cmd+2, Cmd+3 ,...
so it wound be better to let user customize the keyboard shortcut their own way
(including shortcut for each 1st - 3rd color of highlight and pen)

google drive backup by folder
I love that you can backup to google drive but think it would be even better if we could backup specific folders in goodnotes to specific folders in google drive. i.e. a lecture notes folder on goodnotes only syncs to a google drive folder for that class.

Basic full screen editing
There should be a way to edit pdfs or books in full screen mode. Just basic editing capability is needed for eg. a single pen or highlighter option should be there so that we can underline, mark or write something while reading in full screen just like we do for any hardcopy. Reading on full screen mode, the experience is on another level and if basic editing capability is added it will be just perfect( cherry on top of cake).

Also read images
Images and screenshots should also be read for text. Screenshots are often taken of slides and put into notes- but all of this information is excluded when searching words.

MORE PEN SIZES
I suggest pen sizes bigger than 2.0mm! More variety is always better.

add new pages to the left and right of the notes
When I read, the large amount of text on the page made it inconvenient for me to add annotations and notes, especially when I needed to quote passages from other works and had no space. Adding blank pages at the bottom of the page makes turning pages difficult and text cannot be joined.
If a new feature could be added to add blank pages to the left and right of the page, capped at two pages, that would work even better and I would not want to use another note taking app.Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version)

Add Pen Selection to Zoom Bar
It would be helpful to add (duplicate) the pen tools to the Zoom bar and provide the ability to have some preset favorites. This would increase efficiency and user experience when using the Zoom function.

Virtual window for displaying cutouts of a notebook in others as a reference
As an engineering student, I often find myself shuffling through old notes to find a quick summary of a topic or a concept that I use in other problems. This becomes quite tedious, as I tend to copy-paste what I wrote into the new notebook where I reference this note. I think that it would be nice to work in a virtual window that shows a cutout of the older notebook which has the notes that are relevant written down, and i can resize said window to fit in the newer notebook. As far as I understand, this would also help improve the reduction of size of the notebook, further enabling me to keep more notes on my iPad with the saved space. Imagine it as a hyperreference in a PDF document, where you reference back to what is already inserted to the file and you call back to it (quite similar to pointers in C/C++).

Page Up and Page Down
In GoodNotes for Mac, enable 'page up' and 'page down' keys to quickly flip through the pages. The up/down arrow keys are performing continuous scrolling and they are too slow.

Scan handwritten notes
I’d like for Goodnotes to have the ability to scan handwritten text on paper and copy into Goodnotes pages. For instance, using Goodnotes to take a picture scan of handwritten notes in a notebook, and turning that scan into a handwritten page in an existing or new document in Goodnotes. I often find that I don’t always have my iPad with me, and may need to jot something down on paper quickly. Being able to import these notes as something other than pictured would be an amazing feature and time-saver.

Notify user when a notebook has been excluded from backups
I have seen some relatively dangerous behavior regarding notebooks set to auto-backup. When the backup process crashes/fails, the failing notebooks are automatically excluded from subsequent autobackups (see screenshot).
This behavior is acceptable, and probably even desirable, so that other notebooks can continue backing up just fine.
What bothers me about this behavior however is that I receive absolutely ZERO notification that one of my notebooks is no longer backing up. The only way that I can find to learn this is to manually navigate to Settings-->Automatic Backup-->View Backup Queue and note the list of excluded notebooks. This seems very dangerous to silently fail like this, because a notebook could (apparently) sit for weeks or months in a failed state, and only when a user needs to recover from a disaster (such as a lost device) would the user find out that their backup is several months old.
We need some sort of notification--preferably very visually prominent--that a backup error has occurred, and that some notebooks are no longer being backed up.

Typing compatibility
Now notability has the capability to type directly into the notes like a document, without a text box. This would be extremely useful to combine the two capabilities. Currently, the typing is the only reason I still use notability.

Native Attachments
I would like the native attachment retained so that an attachment dragged onto a GoodNotes page can be dragged off and back to original. I currently see a transformation that prevents the drag off. This improvement would increase the versatility of GoodNotes.

continue sheet
When you write on the last sheet,it had better add a new sheet automatically after the last one sheet,we don’t need to use finger to pull up,and the sheet be continued.
