Suggestion how to save to local storage
I'm not sure where does Goodnotes automatically save when I turn off auto back up to cloud storage. Goodnotes doesn't have status to show is it now saving to the device. i.e. loading or syncing symbols that have rotating arrow and say file saved when finish saving.
More over, Goodnotes usually hangs (or crashes?). It hangs and auto show my iPad's home screen.
I suggest 2 ideas to improve how to save.
1) Add saving staus bar and symbol to show is the file saving to somewhere like MS office. For example "Saving to your local storage." or "Saving to name of cloud storage" and then say "Saving complete" or "File saved"2) Add toggle button to choose autosaving or not. If we choose "disable autosave to local storage or cloud storage", a save button will appear. So, we can save any time when we want, preventing current edited file isn't saved when it crashes, and show last saved time. i.e. "Lasted save on 18 Mar 2022, 07:15 a.m."
Thank you for your attention in advanced and I apologize for my poor English if my sentence is hard to read.
Enc. I attach a screen of MS Word in iPad for a reference.

Improving Flashcard Functionality
The flashcard feature is great but there are a few features that I would like to see:
1.) Ability to switch the Q&A sections
After a few weeks of using this feature, there are times when I would like to flip the Q and A section of the flashcards.
2.) Convert any page into a flashcard
I've created a PDF file (around 60 pages) to be turned into flashcards and was hoping to be able to import it and just convert it from there. This was not possible and I had to make a template for each page, set it as a flashcard, and then put it a notebook, just to be able to use it a flashcard.
3.) Being able to select with flashcards will be studied.
My flashcards also serves as my notes and I keep similar notes in one notebook. I would like the ability to choose which flashcards to include in a study session and which ones to exclude. Maybe integrate it into the outline feature?

Shortcut for line size
I do a lot of math and when creating equations I like to make exponents, subs or even small corrections a different line width for them to stand out. It would be very helpful to be able to to use the pencil tap shortcut on Apple Pencil to change the line width and even the color instead of having to constantly reach up to the selection menu to switch back and forth. I have attached a screenshot of a very long problem that I have solved using method as an example of what I’m referring to and how useful it is to do this especially with longer equations. This is something that I have found is particularly useful for learning math

Text recognition for images and imported PDFs
I think the app is great, but a feature that is missing is the ability to recognize txt on imported images and hand written PDFs.
It would be great is you just added that feature like in ZoomNotes.Another thing that I find necessary is a feature to cover text on images (for example when importing screenshots to make Flashcards and you want to cover the text on the image). This would be really useful after having OCR on images.
Another issue that I have is when drawing shapes. Although the option to color fill is enabled, this “fill” is very translucent and there’s no way to change its opacity. Also, after adding the shape and resizing it, the fill remains on its original size and position.
Please, tell me if you are planning to solve any of these issues in the near future.
Thanks

Make the stylus/brush design used for the laser writing a regular pen stylus
Everyone I know loves the stylus used for the laser pointer writing feature but its not actually a stylus you can use to write notes!! That pen style is so nice and I would love to write my notes with it!

Tap once to hide tool panel
I like a simple, minimal, clean, and concentrated UI. So I think if GoodNotes can provide a function that I can one tap on the screen to hide all the tool panel, just leave the canvas there. Then this would be very great!

Let user be able to customize the keyboard shortcut
The situation is
- some user who use secondary language need to switch back to EN before they can use keyboard shortcut
- some use prefer to use Cmd+1, Cmd+2, Cmd+3 ,...
so it wound be better to let user customize the keyboard shortcut their own way
(including shortcut for each 1st - 3rd color of highlight and pen)

improve typing on good notes
I would like to use good notes as my only application for writing, taking notes and creating documents. It is not possible because the typing option does not run as smoothly as "pages" or "microsoft word". Please consider making good notes an application that can be used for creating and editing documents with simple typing.

google drive backup by folder
I love that you can backup to google drive but think it would be even better if we could backup specific folders in goodnotes to specific folders in google drive. i.e. a lecture notes folder on goodnotes only syncs to a google drive folder for that class.

Basic full screen editing
There should be a way to edit pdfs or books in full screen mode. Just basic editing capability is needed for eg. a single pen or highlighter option should be there so that we can underline, mark or write something while reading in full screen just like we do for any hardcopy. Reading on full screen mode, the experience is on another level and if basic editing capability is added it will be just perfect( cherry on top of cake).

Also read images
Images and screenshots should also be read for text. Screenshots are often taken of slides and put into notes- but all of this information is excluded when searching words.

MORE PEN SIZES
I suggest pen sizes bigger than 2.0mm! More variety is always better.

OCR for imported documents
If it was possible to import a document and then be scannable would be a godsend for those who need big chunks of text, are trying to look up words or are learning a language. Even those who need text to speech would be able to copy the scannable text and use it quickly.

Option to remap all currently used colors of notes (pen, highlighter and page color) in a single menu.
Currently only way to change colors of pages and written text (highlighter and pen) is to lasso change the color.
Add an option that would open a menu with all page formats, highlighter and pen colors of a current document, with ability to remap each of them.
This would introduce simpler way to change the whole notes template, as some people (including me) draw on black paper with white pen strokes that are not really sensefull to print on white paper.
Example of black paged notes with yellow highlighter, white & red pen writing:
- used template: A4 Black Paper
- used pen colors: white, red
- used highlighter colors: yellow
With a single menu, upper will be displayed, enabling us to rechoose the colors that are used. In a single menu, we would map these as:
- used template: A4 Black Paper -> A4 White Paper
- used pen colors: white, red -> black, red
- used highlighter colors: yellow -> blue
Effectively changing all the template into a printable state.

Pop Up Notes
Adding the ability to attach pop up notes on highlighted words, similar with adobe acrobat. We should be able to minimize the notes after accessing them. This would clearly benefit students like me who likes to add further notes on books and PDFs without being limited to writing on the side of each page.

add new pages to the left and right of the notes
When I read, the large amount of text on the page made it inconvenient for me to add annotations and notes, especially when I needed to quote passages from other works and had no space. Adding blank pages at the bottom of the page makes turning pages difficult and text cannot be joined.
If a new feature could be added to add blank pages to the left and right of the page, capped at two pages, that would work even better and I would not want to use another note taking app.Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version)
