Type on template lines
It would be much easier to be able to press on the screen and type on the GN's template lines. The text in the text boxes don't match with the template lines, and typing only looks decent on the blank template.
Also when typing with the text boxes, if the lines exceeds the page size, the words disappear unless you make the text smaller instead of continuing on the next page. This makes pasting text time consuming given that you have to keep adjusting the text so that it's visible in the text box.

Ability to overlay a grid on top of a page (to write straight)
Being able to overlay a grid that we can toggle on and off and also move around the page would be helpful for writing straight on pdf documents.
At the moment, all we can do is add a new page with the grid template. But for writing in PDFs (a digital assignment where you handwrite answers to questions, for example), there’s no way to overlay a grid to aid in writing straight.
Procreate has a similar grid feature where you can toggle the grid on or off and you can draw on top of it.

In Quick notes, always start with pen
As someone that's desperate to start jotting notes, I want to start writing asap. Currently, the quick note starts with the last tool you used. So if it's eraser it's quite annoying.

When converting to PDF, the highlight shoudn’t overlay the text
In the app, highlighters are perfect, they lay behind the text, making it pop, and still doesn’t bother when reading it over again. When I want to convert my notes to share it with others, or printing it, PDF looks the best, sharpest. But after converting it, the highlight lays on top of the note making it less nice, and less readable. Is there any chance that we can still enjoy the notes as nice and sharp, even after converted to a PDF?

Quick Menu for fast access to tools
I like how the app Procreate has implemented their Quick Menu. It is fast and easy to pull up. Users can assign their preferred tools to the different slots in the menu. I would love a gesture-activated Quick Menu in GoodNotes. It can speed up my workflow to a great extent. I would enjoy the process more too because I will no longer have to stop to reach for the tool that I want or to go through menu options. The process becomes faster and more intuitive without interfering with my train of thought.

MacOS version: Resume from last worked on document.
Once starting GoodNotes, it'd be nice to have the last document you worked on opened instead of starting from the folder selection screen every time. I have to click through multiple folders just to get to the same file.
On OneNote, the resume feature automatically puts me back into the last opened Notebook + section + filed so I can get to work right away.

Often times i'm trying to draw a curved line but it's changed to a straight line. Please improve recognition between curved and straight lines.

Landscape Canvas Size on iPad Pro
When do handwritten notes direct on a landscape oriented page (in big paper formats like A3) there is no room on the right to scroll out of the page, having enough space that my hand stays on the iPad so that I can continue writhing.
Example: When you use a horizontal A4 page and zoom in that you can straight write on the page you can move the page more and more to the right while you are filling the paper. Once you are reaching 2/3 of the page you can still continue scrolling right and there will be this gray area but you can continue writing. On horizontal A3 mode this is not possible and you have to continue writing with some very awkward hand posture.Suggestion: having enough room on all pages sizes and orientations next to the page itself to enable writing on the whole page while having the hand on the iPad (see attached image as problem description detail)

— StephiePS: Sure I have more ideas: Some Whiteboard-Endless Canvas would also be nice because then I could draw as big as needed images for anki flash cards or in my psychology study lessons. But one step after the other - for now I try to overcome this with the usage of very big page sizes (like A3 in landscape), but with that no-hand-space problem, I described above, my work-around solution is suffering.

Insert screenshots and images in the same size as original!
When I screenshot parts of a document and insert them at a different point, the ratio always changes and the screenshot is bigger/smaller than the original image/text passage I wanted to take a screenshot of.
I have to resize the screenshots every time which takes time and both parts often don't end up being the exact same size.3 votes -

Pop-up notes, cross-sectional view of pdf, easy visibility of pdf pages
I came over to the good note while using flexl.
Good note's handwriting and comfort are touching.
However, there were many inconveniences.
First of all, when I see the pdf horizontally, I see only one page, so it is a waste of space. Don't crosswise support double-sided viewing.
Second, I wish I had a pop-up note. There is a limit to taking notes on the pdf, and split views are uncomfortable.
Thirdly, I wish I could easily grasp the pdf page.
Hundreds of pages of major books are hard to open.
I hope there is a function to see many pages briefly.
These functions are all in the flexle.
However, the flexl does not feel good at handwriting and does not synchronize icloud.
But I may have to use flexl because of the three disadvantages above.
Please update it for the convenience of users.
나는 플렉슬을 사용하다 굿노트로 넘어왔다.
굿노트의 필기감과 편안함은 감격스러울 정도다.
그러나 불편한점이 많았다.
첫번째로 가로로 pdf 를 볼때 1장만 보여서 공간낭비가 심하다. 가로모드시 양면보기를 지원해줘라.
두번째로 팝업노트가 있으면 좋겠다. pdf에 필기하는건 한계가 있고, 스플릿뷰는 불편하다.
세번째로는 pdf 페이지를 편하게 파악할수 있다면 좋겠다.
수백페이지에 달하는 전공책은 원하는 페이지를 펼치기 힘들다.
수많은 페이지를 간략하게 볼수 있는 기능이 있으면 좋겠다.
이 기능들은 모두 플렉슬에 있는 기능이다.
하지만 플렉슬은 필기감이 좋지 않으며, icloud 동기화도 안된다.
그러나 나는 위 단점 3가지 때문에 플렉슬을 써야만 할지도 모른다.

I would like to be able to upload my own notebook cover from my camera roll. This would allow for personal pictures, aesthetically pleasing wallpaper covers, and individually made decorated covers with our title on it.

Sin-/ Cos- recognition using Apple Pen
Hi, I am a mechanical engineering student and use good notes a lot for lecture notes and calculations. For quick drawings of periodic functions it would be nice, if good notes would recognize sin-/cos- shaped drawings of functions. Like the spline recognition, you could add control points to adjust phase, amplitude etc. and number of displayed periods.

Lasso context menu automatically open
After selecting something, you have to tap inside the lasso area to get the options menu to open (to let you take screenshot, resize, etc). This menu should open immediately after selecting something so you don't have to tap again. (This is how the menu on Noteshelf works)

Text box/random deletions
I do not know why but every time I use a text box and type vs. using my apple pen to write. IT DELETES. All my notes are gone. It's very frustrating.
