snap shape detection to make single lines 90 degrees parallel as option to enable on shape tool
We use good notes to draw dimensions onto house plans as a site measure. Since the new update our lines straighten but remain at an angle - This is nice however we would like to be able to have the option to enable parallel snapping so when a line is drawn slight off 90degrees it straightens up to 90 degrees or 180degrees this makes drawing dimension annotation very fast - at the moment we need to straight the lines by editing the node for every line which is slow and frustrating.

Share screenshot as SVG
I use GoodNotes screenshot-feature on a daily basis to create drawings for my exercises & summaries for uni and it would be very useful if I could export into SVG -> better quality while maintaining a small footprint.
This should illustrate my idea:

Schedule automatic backup or offer cooldown period
The current automatic backup attempts to backup your files after every edit and thus (based on my settings) attempts to render to pdf after every single edit. This constant rendering and uploading rapidly drains the iPad battery to the point where I lose about 20-30% per hour of use and as a side effect makes the device very hot and uncomfortable to use.
Instead, it would be good to have an option to either schedule a backup (i.e. once an hour, once a day, etc) or have a cooldown option where a document won't be backed up until say 5 minutes of no activity has passed.
As it stands I have disabled automatic backup because it drains the battery too rapidly.

Remember Outline Settings
At the moment, any time I reopen the app the outline settings is reset. This is very annoying as some of the imported PDFs contain their outlines which I do not wish to see in my custom outlines. The settings should be remembered for each document.

Lock orientation permanently
Have the ability to lock the app to always force a certain orientation. iPad OS is much more productive in landscape mode, so locking the goodnotes app would allow the use of goodnotes portrait mode without having to constantly toggle the apple orientation lock whenever I open and close the app.

Screen Reader Compatibility
For some reason, whenever I upload a pdf to Goodnotes on my iPad, I loose the ability to use my screen reader to help me read the text. This is really awful, as I rely on my screen reader to help me get through my readings for school. I love the flexibility of Goodnotes' highlight, page marking, and page searching functions. This one extra layer of compatibility or trouble shooting would literally make the difference between excelling and falling behind in my classes :/.

Fix the bug that doesn't allow fixing zoom window return height
When you import custom templates, the zoom window return height doesn't change even when you change its value to a similar value that the other default templates of the same size have. For example, I import A3 templates and even though I change the height to ~30, the zoom window always jumps way lower, a whole unit of its height below, instead of just a line like in the default goodnotes templates.
Many users import custom made templates and it gets inefficient always having to place the window where it should be.

Increase size of laser pointer
It would be helpful if the size of the laser pointer could be adjusted. The current one is pretty small and sometimes hard to recognise.

Suggestions on scientific input
I am a Chinese user, and the following text is generated by machine translation.
Currently, there is no good solution for the input of scientific formulas and equations. It is suggested that LaTex formula input should be supported and handwritten content can be directly transformed into a beautiful formula style through OCR recognition. Recommend a company that does a really good job of identifying scientific formulas, and their service is available on the cheap, at https://mathpix.com/
In the state of text box editing, the software is not compatible with apple Pen's "write casually" function, which can realize real-time handwriting recognition to complete text input.

Allow Google Drive integration to access Shared Drives
It appears the Google Drive current integration is just for "My Drive" and not for Shared team drives. My organization uses shared drives heavily and it would be great to have access to them through GoodNotes. Currently, I have to copy the document from the shared drive to my drive in order to work on it in GoodNotes.

Ability to rotate paper
I love using the Apple Pencil. One nitpick: if we could rotate pages with 2 fingers in any direction it would be great. I tend to write at an angle with page turned slightly clockwise. Having the page be perfectly vertical or horizontal is uncomfortable after a lot of writing. Another app that does this well is Procreate.

Undo shape
The shape tool does not respond to the undo feature like it should. Resize via the shape tool will not revert to the last size if I hit the undo button. This is an easy fix that should be a thing already.

Flat (rectangular tip) highlighter
It may not seem important to many, but when doing some tracker marking to fill up rectangle shapes, it is so hard using a rounded highlighter. I end up using Noteshelf when I really want to use goodnotes. It messes up my entire habit tracking that I use everyday.

I hope there is an eraser function that can only erase the traces of the strokes on the entire page, but not the traces of the highlighter

Insert video
I’m starting a daily journal/diary on GoodNotes and would like to document special events with videos as well as my notes that I’ve written down. I’m writing a new suggestion instead of voting on a previous one because I noticed that quite a few people might like this feature, but I haven’t seen any confirmation that it’s underway. Is this feature I’m the works? If so, what does the timeline look like for us to get our hands on it??
