Text Size
You can already edit the text size in text boxes, but why can‘t you do that when you are writing on the full page? The feature is so satisfying to use, it automatically aligns perfectly with the lines, but why are there only some premade options like heading 1, heading 2…? The normal size is just too small. I think this would greatly improve your app and it should be pretty easy for you to implement it. Thank you for this great app.

Convert power point/ pdf into flash cards….
The option to convert a pdf or power point file into a flash card would be a really nice add on feature, I spend much of time creating power point but to manually copy and paste and create a flash card is time consuming… hope the future update will have this option.

Excessive File Size in PDFs Exported with Japanese Handwriting Recognition Enabled
I’ve noticed that when exporting a PDF with Handwriting Recognition enabled in GoodNotes, the file size becomes significantly larger if the Recognition Language is set to Japanese and includes handwritten Japanese text. In many cases, the file size increases by more than five times, depending on the document content.
For comparison, when I scan a Japanese document using a document scanner and apply OCR with Adobe Acrobat (Windows version), the resulting PDF file size does not increase as drastically. This suggests that the file size issue when adding transparent Japanese text to PDFs may not be unavoidable.
I believe the excessive size might be due to inefficient font subsetting, especially given that CJK (Chinese, Japanese, Korean) characters often require larger font files than English text. When I analyzed the file size in Adobe Acrobat, I found that fonts accounted for about 74% of the total file size, which likely contributes to this issue.
It would be ideal if PDFs exported with Japanese handwriting recognition were optimized to reduce file size, particularly by addressing font subsetting methods for CJK characters.

Synchronization between IPad and MAC
I usually type notes on my laptop using the text box setting. However if I make changes such as drawing, highlighting etc on the IPad it becomes slightly shifted when looking at it on the laptop. Thank you

Allow video frames on a page
Assuming I have the video content already on my device allow me to embed a video frame in the GoodNotes page in the middle of the other page content. If it’s super complicated to do the same with external video sources then limit it to device content only for now. This would be a big improvement.

Allow Text in more than one column
A basic word processing format is multiple columns that can hold text. Currently, even though in the paper choice section columns are offered as an option, when using columns, there is no way to actually put text on the adjacent columns. Text will not flow over nor can a simple cursor touch move text flow over to the next column.

Ruler position
Remember the last position of the ruler. So if I angle it at 90 degrees and then put it away, when I activate it again it is still vertical or in whatever past position I left it in

4 votes -
Better Night Mode (or improve UI to be more like apple notes/notability)
I use a lot goodnotes at night, and it is really bad. I don't like the blue colour that stands out during the night. Would be nice to either leave it black, or just be more minimalistic like apple notes or notability.

Toolbar position enhancement
I suppose that the toolbar could be further simplified. Also, the toolbar should be allowed to move to both the LHS and the RHS, it would be more convenient for changing the tool to use more rapidly when writing!! The position of it should be moved by the drag of our finger which make it easier to chance position instead of search for the bottom in the settings.

Copy text from screenshot/Image
New user, using Goodnotes for my Japanese studies, and I would benefit from being able to copy as text from images/PDFs I’ve inserted into notebooks, alternatively being able to select and manipulate text in an image the same way I can in Photos/Notes and other Apple Apps on iPadOS.

Set template for file names when exporting files via drag and drop
I use GoodNotes 6 to grade student papers just about anywhere and then export the graded pages to a shared Google drive folder per student via the iPadOS files app using a drag and drop motion from GoodNotes to the target folder. It’s very seamless and efficient!…
…However, the file that’s created in each student folder is named simply as the page number from the GoodNotes notebook from which it came. For example, if I drop and drop page 15 of 32 from a file called “Unit Test A” into a student folder the file in the Google drive destination is simply named “15.pdf”
A page number alone doesn’t provide enough context as to the files content. I am hopeful that we can get the active file name in use added as the root file name with the option of including the page number as a part of the file. In short the default file name (using the example from above) would be “Unit Test A.pdf” with the selectable option (in app settings) of including the page number(s) resulting in “Unit Test A pg 15.pdf” as the file name.

Different pen styles would be great! Specifically a crayon type of pen or other stylistic types of pens.

Drag Folders from Finder
It would be amazing if we could drag a number of folders from Finder into GoodNotes and it creates the folders in GoodNotes with the PDFs in each one.
I use it a lot for reviewing documents and currently I have to create the folders to match Finder and then drag/drop the PDFs into each one...

Random Name Generator
Since the addition of the timer, a random name generator would be beneficial for classroom randomization. As a teacher, randomization is essential for a classroom environment to ensure all students are learning. I teach on my iPad, and switching between windows is inconvenient.

Notifications and schedules
My idea is when the teacher posts a new homework, the students can get a notification on their device. A follow up to this idea is we can get a schedule in the menu. The schedule can show us what homework we have, when it is due and which notebook it is located. In the schedule, students can also write their own dates (e.g. exams, quizzes etc)

Restore recently used font selection feature
I mainly use typing through text boxes and use multiple fonts.
Previously, there was a feature where recently used fonts were displayed at the top and could be changed to that font when pressed, but this feature disappeared after an update.
Currently, it only shows the recently used fonts, so if I want to change to that font, I have to find it again.
I really hope this feature will be restored again.

Audio Recording Option for Android Version
It is clearly one thing that makes GoodNotes compete with Notability and it is super useful for students! Since it is implemented in iOS, it should be in Android as well to make many users who are hesitant to change from iOS without a Notability replacement with this tool. Thanks!

Link Sharing and editing not working correctly
As we can read here: https://support.goodnotes.com/hc/en-us/articles/7445581406095-Share-notebooks-between-iOS-and-other-platforms#share-notebooks-between-ios-and-other-platforms-0-0 the complete synchronisation between iOS App and Web Apps is not possible yet, but Link Sharing and editing should be working.
I just was testing the Link Sharing and editing option. The Sharing Option works, but the editing option does not synchronize between iOS App and WebApp.Steps to reproduce:
1. Create Notebook on iOS App.
2. Create Share Link for that notebook in iOS App.
3. Open Link in Browser or Windows App.
4. Edit in Browser or Windows App.
5. Wait for Status "Synchronised" in Windows App.
6. Wait for Synchronisation in iOS App.
7. Does not Synchronize.
8. But does synchronize to a different Browser / Windows App.
OR:
4. Edit in iOS App.
5. Wait for Synchronisation.
6. Does not Synchronize to Windows App.It would be a great benefit to be able to make that synchronisation work correctly.
