Text Editing icon looks like "AI". Change to something unambiguous
When selecting handwritten text, there is this "A" with the text cursor icon which I often confuse with an "AI" function. I think that some other icon would be really helpful to avoid confusion.
Here is a suggestion for a better icon: https://www.flaticon.com/free-icon/text-editor_2535559
In the screenshot, I highlighted the problem.

visible pencil tip and finger pointer in presentation mode
On the board, the students can see where I am going to change the text or continue writing, as well as what I am commenting on and pointing out with my other hand. This is what makes the blackboard so effective.
If you want to replace the blackboard with GoodNotes, this would also have to be made possible. Technically, I think this would be possible. In presentation mode, the tip of the writing tool can be displayed (even before writing, in hover mode) and other parts of the text can be marked with a finger, which can be commented on and developed further.
This functionality would be a massive improvement in teaching.

Having colour palettes like procreate and having them all link!
I believe it would be a lot easier if all colours were linked as this would mean that I don’t have to add colours I like using to the pen, pencil, highlighter, and text colours. I’d only need to add it once rather than twice.
It would also be good if we could have our own colour pallets similar to procreate as they can then be named, which makes it easier than scrolling through all the colours I have trying to find the colour I’m after as I’ve got so many colours now I’m easily loosing them! It could also mean that they are named based on documents that are being used so I might have them named by colours, or by diary’s/journals that I have to make it a lot easier for me when I’m using all my documents! It could be very similar to the stickers sections so you add all the colours to like in one section and you can give it a name too! I just think that this would be a lot easier to navigate the colours and if they all link we don’t need to copy and paste hex codes! I only have the basic highlighter colours because I view it as a waste of my time adding all my text and pen colours to my highlighters!

Move page on background
Moveability of the virtual page on the virtual background would be a huge banger. Maybe even rotation to fit to the user natural hand allignment on the page.
Why?
I ALWAYS have that huge problem on the lower part of every page. Cant access it porperly because of the rim of my iPad. It gets worse with my confuguration because i have heavy duty case (work in industry) which thickens the iPad alot.
ofc I would have the same problem with normal paper or notebooks.. but we could have that option, right? :D

Artistic Pens !
Hello, in the attachments I have added screenshots from only one CollaNote application, in which, in addition to basic pens, calligraphy pens and a classic pencil, we also get a dozen or so decorative artistic and 3D markers. Goodnotes is great, but it lags behind the competition when it comes to markers. Please add new pens.

Search bar for market place
I can't find specific templates in the market place. It would be nice if there was a way to search for something like, "habit trackers" or even a theme.

Poor readability of study sets
I’m so pleased with study sets, it’s very useful function for studying.
But when I practice the sets it’s hard to read the cards because the texts on the screen are too small to read. Even though in horizontal mode, the text size is same to in vertical one.
I hope it be improved asap. Please refer to screenshots I sent.2 votes -
Count highlighted squares on graphs.
Many cross stitchers use Goodnotes to stitch downloaded pdf patterns and highlight the charts(graphs) to keep track of where they are and know what percentage they have completed. Many like to track stitch count (per stitching session and cumulative), so it would be nice if Goodnotes had this feature. Thanks for considering this suggestion.

Easier access to files by making expandable folder/file list
Please i beg you it would be so much more convenient to have access to folders by having the option to expand on the left side of the screen like how the apple filing system works on files or finder. It is such a simple change i don't understand why it is not being implemented. thank you

Link other notebooks
please make a function to link another document within a document!!
I am making a short summary to study for my class final, I would love to be able to link a different document within my goodnotes folders to a specific word to have more detailed information
for example: my note says " - the sea is full of organisms", I then tap on the word "organism" and my notes on organisms I took during class pop up, because I was able to link them to my short summary

1 vote -
minimum os requirements
Your minimum os requirement is way too high for me to enable icloud sync. My old computer is fine but to enable sync I have to upgrade my os which my old computer does not support. I would not subscribe goodnotes for a function I cannot use. It is impossible for me to buy a new computer just to be able to use the new version of goodnotes. Stop forcing me to upgrade my computer os. You need to be more inclusive!

Direct Document Access: Edit and Sync PDFs in GoodNotes from iCloud and Local Folders
Situation:
As a frequent user of GoodNotes, my primary activity involves editing PDF files. I import numerous documents into the app to annotate and review them using my Apple Pencil. These edits include highlighting key information and jotting down spontaneous thoughts. Once edited, I export these PDFs to store them in my personal file system, including iCloud, for access through various other tools like Obsidian or Adobe Acrobat Pro.Improvement:
I propose an enhancement where GoodNotes can directly link to specific folders on iCloud or local storage on a MacBook. Instead of importing PDFs into GoodNotes' internal storage, this feature would allow GoodNotes to display and edit PDFs directly from their original locations. Any changes made within GoodNotes would automatically update the original PDF files in their respective folders.Benefits:
This integration would streamline the workflow significantly by:
• Reducing Redundancy: Eliminate the need for multiple imports and exports of the same file, saving time and storage space.
• Enhancing Productivity: Allow for a more fluid transition between GoodNotes and other applications, facilitating a more integrated digital workspace.
• Maintaining File Integrity: Ensure that all annotations and edits are directly saved to the original file, maintaining a single, consistent version.
Call to Action:
If you also juggle between GoodNotes and other applications for file access and editing, you understand the value of seamless integration. Support this suggestion to bring more flexibility and efficiency to our GoodNotes experience, making it a true powerhouse for PDF management.Situation:

Zoom button enable/disable button
For example, I would like to have a toggle for the zoom button so that when I press disable, it doesn't zoom in when I try to zoom in, and when I want to zoom in, it only zooms in when the zoom button is enabled.
When I try to writing things, it keeps zooming in when I don't want it to, which is inconvenient.

add an option to correct handwriting to make it neater
my handwriting is quite inconsistent and i think it would be a cool idea to have good notes recognise the letter you are typing and change it to a selected ‘font’. i know that i could just type but i much prefer to write my notes because that’s how i memorise well but i find myself rewriting a word multiple times to just make it look nicer. you could also go a step further and allow users to create their own ‘fonts’. this way it would be corrected to be neater but it would still stay in their handwriting. i understand that it might not be able to recognise all mathematical symbols or some languages more detailed letters but personally, i think that this would work great for me.

Automatic Paper Color Switching in GoodNotes
Current Situation
As it stands, GoodNotes users have to choose between white or black paper at the beginning of a notebook, which stays fixed throughout. This setup has its limitations, particularly for those who frequently switch display modes to adapt to different environments. The Proposal
What if GoodNotes could automatically switch between white and black paper when toggling between light and dark modes? This would be similar to how the iOS Notes app operates, where the paper color changes seamlessly with the mode. Notability also has a similar feature, and incorporating it into GoodNotes could enhance flexibility and usability. The Benefits
1. Streamlined Workflow: Users wouldn’t need to commit to a single paper color. This flexibility would improve usability for a variety of tasks and settings. 2. Assignment-Friendly: For students and professionals working on assignments, this feature would make it easier to work in dark mode (which is easier on the eyes) and then switch to light mode when submitting, ensuring the document is easy to read. 3. Enhanced User Experience: This addition would make GoodNotes more adaptable to user needs, making it feel more dynamic and modern. Conclusion
I believe this feature would make GoodNotes even more powerful for everyone. Thank you for considering this proposal! Let’s make note-taking and assignment submission as seamless as possible for all users.Current Situation
