A censor box that lets you cover parts of the page until you want to see it to quick reference.
This would allow me to quickly edit my notes from school (possibly as i take them!) and practice the examples we covered in class without TRYING to not look at the answers, or only copy/pasting the relevant stuff.
Obviously the box should be resizable, and maybe even able to be a customizable color and shape since I can’t write in a straight line when I’m in a rush ‘XD!
I’m sure it has more creative/interactive functions, but idk what they could be.

Lock location of folders/notes/docs to a spot on a grid for better folder organization
Instead of sorting documents by date, name, or type, you should be able to "lock" a document to a certain spot and move everything else.

2x reading speed. Audio feature! Text out loud.
When highlighting a text you are already able to hit speech and it will be read to you. It would be great if there were speed options 0.5x, .75x, 1x, 2x, etc...
I am an auditory learner so this would help with all my e-textbooks. It would also be great if you can pause it while it is being read to you, in case you have to get up or move for a second.25 votes -
Suchfunktion bei Karteikarten
Eine Suchfunktion bei Karteikarten wäre sehr hilfreich. Wenn man beim Lernen in 50 oder mehr Karteikarten nach einer bestimmten sucht, frisst das sehr viel Zeit.

Add audio to document
Introduce the ability to insert an mp3 audio into a document. In this way, in case it was not possible to register with the application itself, I can have the registration and the document all in one file.

Dialysis patient made the mistake of ‘trying’ GN6. Fear I will lose 6yrs GN5 notes
I have 6yrs of my dialysis related notes (blood pressures, medications, etc). I tried the GN6 trial with immediate regret, looked to cancel, found out that it says there is no subscription to cancel, nor trial to cancel.Am I going to be losing my GN5 notes or GN5 features? Will GN5 just cease to exist. Do I have to back up my notes into another notewriting app? Please help. Not happy at all

Add option for a tool wheel
I am seeing people migrate to drawing apps for note taking more and more now, I am a student.
The app “Concepts” is drawing app that has lately been covering note taking capabilities as well. They have 2 options for their tool menu:
A “linear” toolbar (like the one on Goodnotes 6) and a tool “wheel”. The wheel expands to a wheel shaped color palette when picking colors
Goodnotes needs to implement this option for people who want more space to navigate and take non-linear notes (like mind maps), while also keeping the regular toolbar (for people who who use Goodnotes for more linear approaches in note taking).
“Concepts” utilizes this wheel design but falls short in its potential use cases. This is because the menu, which is designed in a very spatially efficient way, only expands when selecting colors.
If Goodnotes had this feature, but instead allowed the wheel to expand for all tools (not just color selection), a lot of people would be able to take notes with faster navigation since the expanded wheel would be able to turn when dragged by the user to select the desired tool.
For example, you could divide the wheel into multiple layers/rings, which have slots that can be used to store pen preferences.
Say, I would like a dotted 0,45 mm ball point pen. I’d simply have to tap the wheel on the pen selection tab (and maybe this could also be implemented as a 2-3 finger tap shortcut), the wheel would expand to the rings/layers in which I stored my preferred setting, and I simply select it.
Colors could be selected in a similar fashion.
The wheel would be moveable for optimal spatial efficiency, simply by dragging it.
In “Concepts”, if you drag the wheel to the side, it turns into a regular toolbar. In the corners, it behaves like a wheel.
The menu designs used in the “Concepts” app can be found in the images attached. The images with the overlayed window of pen options, can be reproduced by tapping a tool selection tab, like selecting a pen. Like I said before, this menu design (second picture) could be more efficient if it was part of the wheel like the color palette.
Goodnotes should turn this menu into separate rings which expand from the core of the wheel.

Seamless Continuous Pages
It'd be good to have an option for this
In Notability, in a vertical scrolling document, when you write at the bottom of a page, it seamlessly lets you draw through to the next page. On GoodNotes 5, you are forced to remain constrained to the current page. Maybe have a page lock option or something to remedy this issue since it'd be useful for people who like unlimited scrolling documents.17 votes -
Regroup text drawn arrows as one
It would be great to have an option to regroup hand drawn text as one chunk of text.
How i see it: When selecting a chunk of hand drawn arrows, we would have an option to regroup the selected vectors and merge everything as one chunk.
It would be much easier to move things around.

I would like a setting to automatically save files and not ask in a dialog each time.
GoodNotes is my favorite app, but it is difficult to use because when you create a new note (file) and close it after writing, you have to choose in a dialog whether to save or delete (not save).
Deciding whether to delete a created note can be done from the file list, so it is time-consuming to select it from the dialog each time it is created. It would be nice if it could be selected in the settings so that it can be automatically saved. It would reduce the number of one-tap operations.
For example, in Procreate, the file is automatically saved by default, and if you want to delete the file, you delete it from the file list screen. This is comfortable because there is no need to operate whether or not to save the file when creating a new file. Could you add such a setting?
Thank you for always letting me use your good apps. I appreciate it!

Textfeld Formatierung

Apple Shortcuts Support
Currently, GoodNotes offers a few basic actions in Apple Shortcuts.
I would love to see more advanced actions that allow users to customize their workflows to a greater extend. Here are some automations/workflows I could imagine:
- Shortcut to open the notebook corresponding to the lecture your currently sitting in (by checking your current calendar events)
- Every evening, automatically check whether I’ve written something to my diary today, if not, prompt me to do so and open the last page
- Every evening, check which lecture notes were edited, then export them and share them with a friend who doesn’t use GoodNotes
- For research / reviewing literature: automatically create a new temporary notebook with the name of the text I’m reading. When I’m done taking notes, export as pdf, send to my literature management software and delete the GoodNotes notebook.
- Use OCR to export hand-written todos to todo apps like Things (with some regex and optional manual cleanup of the OCR text)
- Automatically create daily templates (like pages with today’s date as a title)
- Add the current weather or the name of the song your listening to to your journal
- Create more advanced templates (e. g. calendar templates filled with todays schedule from a calendar app) by some other means (e. g. LaTeX running on a server?), then add them to a notebook.
Here are some rough ideas for the Shortcuts actions the above ideas would probably require (and some more):
- Open <Notebook> (on the last opened page or a specified one)
- Open <Folder>
- Get notebook info from <Notebook> (returns metadata like last edited time, page count, template paper size etc.)
- Get info from <Page> in <Notebook> (returns metadata like page size, …?)
- Export <Notebook> (options: all pages or just specific ones, plus the same options as in the export UI)
- Create new page in <Notebook> (adds a new empty page based on the notebooks template, either at the end or at a specific location)
- Add <PDF> to <Notebook> (appends pages at the end, or inserts them at a specific location)
- Find notebooks (to actually retrieve notebooks you don’t know the name and location of, similar to ‘Find Notes’ from Apple Notes)
- Create new notebook (name, location, template)
- Delete <Notebook>
- Even cooler would be stuff to actually edit content on pages, but that seems more difficult than the stuff above:
- Insert <Text> on <Page> in <Notebook> at <X Position> <Y Position> (with usual font options)
- Insert <Image> on <Page> in <Notebook> at <X Position> <Y Position> (with width/height option)
- Insert <Shape> on <Page> in <Notebook> at <X Position> <Y Position> (for vector lines/rectangles/circles, with width/height option)
