  2. A mode for lasso tool where it selects only completely enclosed objects

    The lasso tool should have a mode (switch?) where it only selects objects that are completely enclosed by the lasso area, not anything that intersects with the lasso area. This is very useful for selecting things in complex drawings.

  3. Math Equation Writer

    I’d like to be able to enter math equations in text with special characters like in Microsoft word. With special characters and symbols. I use good notes for engineering.If you look a word, it has equation, and symbols, subscripts and super scripts. That would be great.

  4. Dropbox Direct Access

    I think everyone ist working with files stored on a cloud (iCloud, Dropbox, ...)
    Allowing direct access to the files and working directly on them without having to export would give a huge improvement to everyones workflow.

    Take PDF reader as an example or apps like that.

    Having to import every file into GoodNotes is a big waste of time which could be avoided really "easily".

  5. Reminders. Very specific

    Hi, I would love to see this update soon. No one is doing it and I think it would set you apart from the rest.

    We all use reminders every day for certain tasks, emails and or events. This is so common. But, when I am writing notes using my iPad I may have something in particular I'd like to come back too. How ever having to find it again, or create an anchor or something is a bit difficult at times to do on the fly.

  6. Tabs at top have colour options so it’s easier to differentiate from different types of pages when choosing open files.

    Tabs that are open , have top of the tab be able to have different colours.

  8. date stamp in export-filename

    Automatically created datestamp in filename during Export

    I love to work with GN5 at school as a teacher every day - I can't imagine working without it. Therefore I export the actual content every day to upload it into the cloud and it would be helpful, if I could check a checkbox, that would add the date of the day after the export-filename.

  9. Add a set number of pages when creating a new notebook

    When we create a new notebook we should be able to choose the number of pages we want added for the paper template we selected. For example, I want fifty pages of the blank paper template automatically added to my new notebook.
    That way we don’t have to manually add page after page or keep pulling on the current page and release to add another page.
    This feature would be the equivalent of buying a physical notebook from the store with a set number of pages.

  10. Place auto advance box towards the center or right for left handed writers.

    It would be nice if the auto advance box could be placed towards the center right or right side of the zoom window. As a left handed person, it can be difficult and uncomfortable to write neatly given the fact that the iPad has height to it unlike paper. on a flat service. I’m having to resort to manually move the zoom window which disrupts my writing flow.

  14. Tool shortcuts in the zoom box.

    In GoodNotes 4, 3 colors and the eraser tool were easily accessible at the top of the zoom window. It would be great to have this back. It is a bit inconvenient to reach to the top of the ipad to erase, change tool or undo.

  16. Sidecar bug...

    It seams that whenever I use pencil in sidecar (or with Luna display) Goodnotes disable use od mouse: I can select tools, but pencil, laso, eraser do not work with mouse. I need to restart the app to get them back under control. (I use the latest version of iOS, macOS.)

  18. Add Palm Rest to GoodNotes 5

    Add a palm rest option to GoodNotes 5 like there was in GoodNotes 4. It makes it a lot easier to make notes on my iPad, especially when getting towards the bottom of the screen where there is no option to move the paper higher so I can rest my hand on the screen. It's very hard to write with my hand held in the air trying to balance on the edge of the iPad. Hope what I've described makes sense.

  19. Snap highlighter to text

    I use Preview on OS X and highlighting is a pleasure on it because you can just select the text you want to highlight in the PDF by clicking and dragging (like you normally select text in a computer).

    Similarly, it will be extremely useful for me if the highlighter tool automatically snapped to the text in the document instead of working like a sort of painting tool that draws in a straight line above the text.

  20. Text editing with tool bar on the bottom

    If you use GoodNotes with the tool bar at the bottom instead of at the top (being left handed I find it way more comfortable) it’s impossible to edit any typed text.
    When I select some text in order to edit it, the “text edit“ icon is hidden by the keyboard, therefore I’m unable to tap on it. However, if I dismiss the keyboard, the text is not selected anymore, therefore I can’t edit it.
    A floating “text edit“ icon that pops up when text is selected could be a solution.
