Coloured Tabs
Coloured Tabs would be great.
I have many goodnotes files open, many for different subjects. If I could colour the tabs, I could more easily distinguish betweens subjects and more quickly find the subject I am looking for.
For example: my thermodynamics folder is red. Notes to my thermodynamics lecture could corresponed to a red tab by default. Homework for thermodynamics, that are also in the red thermodynamics folder, could also have their tab colour switched from red to pink (similar colour, different purpose).14 votes -

Remove hyperlinks being active in annotation mode.
It used to be that only in read-only mode would the hyperlinks be active. This allowed me to write in annotation mode without accidentally switching to a different page of the notebook. Now I am constantly being shuffled to a new page when I write if I accidentally touch a hyperlink. I rely on this app for all my self-scheduling, day planner, and journaling. With this change it makes the app unusable.

An option to completely hide the top dock
the dock menu at the top takes up a sixth of the space there is and it's really stupid because you can't hide it either. If this feature doesn't get added, I think I'm just gonna move over to notability. I can't believe there isn't an option for this, this shouldn't even be a big issue.

Add back ability to click on page to minimize side-bar to see results
Used to be able to search or open “table of contents / outline” and then when you clicked on your selection in the sidebar or on the page the sidebar would be minimized / in the background. The first pic the sidebar is open and to visualize the entire page you now have to tap on the search/table on contents icon at the top to minimize and see the entire page. The other 2 uploads is a previous search where you clicked on your selection in the sidebar and then you could click on the page to minimize the sidebar…

Epub Files with new Comment Sticky Notes

Template
The template purchases currently download as a notebook with 300+ pages that you have to manually input into custom templates page by page.
I want my purchase to either download as the full template or have the proper system to upload the full pdf and organize between cover or page.
Basically just be able to do a multiple page template download that's doesn't have a limit to pages downloaded at once.2 votes -
GoodNotes battery saver mode
GoodNotes draws lots of power from my iPad Air M2, more than most games and streaming services, I'm not 100% sure where this is coming from, but I think the text recognition draws most of the power.
So my idea would be some kind of battery-saver mode that turns off the text recognition if the device runs of the battery and when the iPad is being charged then the text will me analyzed.1 vote -
Goodnotes Minimal and Advanced mode
Different users have unique needs from a note taking software which practically isn't possible to cover in a single app UI by developers. Therefore, two MODES, a MINIMAL/SIMPLE and an ADVANCED/PRO mode should be made. Critical problem: User copy and paste large amount of text into Goodnotes 6 app resulting in data loss
After I copied 1,409 words from Bear iPadOS app and pasted into Goodnotes 6 iPadOS app, only some text are pasted. Most of it are truncated (data loss) as the pasted text only stops at the first page (current page). The Goodnotes 6 app failed to auto create new pages to cater to the pasted text. This is not a problem for all note taking apps in the iPad App Store.

Please make Goodnotes available in Android phones like Samsung S24 Ultra.
I am in the IOS ecosystem and I love Goodnotes. I hope you make it available for Android phones like Samsung S24 Ultra so we can utilize our devices on the go and can also study without the worry of our iPads or tablets being stolen in public transport. Thank you.

highlight colour by default
It would be great if you could select the default highlight color depending on the document you're in, so that if you highlight using the text selection for multiple lines, you can have it in the colour you wish, and not always yellow. It's a bit tiresome to have to change the colour to your own preference every time

save as default for different documents
I love the save as default feature, but depending on the document I will use one size or the other. It would be great to have a default font per document, just as you can choose one template per document and do not have to change it every time I write

Typed outline style notes
Similar to how you can type notes for specific slides on a powerpoint, this feature would allow you to type notes beside the document, not on the actual document. This feature could live in the sidebar of the document and be collapsable when not in use. For example, If you were using Goodnotes online or on the desktop app, you would be able to more efficiently type notes that correspond to each page without having to mess with text boxes, which often slow down workflow (espically if you are typing notes during class).

Adjust sidebar width on mac
When viewing outlines, if the name for the outline is long, the user can only see only a few words (around 2-3 words). I wish goodnotes could add a function to adjust the sidebar width on Mac.

Fix handwriting with hover enabled
Hover seems to break handwriting in Goodnotes with Apple Pencil. My handwriting looks noticeably worse with hover enabled, it's as if there are tails coming out of my handwriting even after the pencil has been lifted off the screen. Other apps seem to have overcome this problem. Please fix this as this is a dealbreaker for an otherwise solid app.

Allow option to open or close ALL TAPES in a document
I like how when the tapes are open, they look like highlighted texts, so I can read through the document without getting bothered by the tapes. And when I finally decide to quiz myself, I can just close them all at once.

Short trial of marketplace items before buying
There are many add ons in the marketplace like planners for example that we’d have to pay for to access.
There should ideally be an option to try them out for a short period of time before buying. It’s difficult to determine which planner option would be bested based on the screenshots shown under each in the marketplace.
The last thing anyone wants is to spend €9.99 on a planner that doesn’t suit your needs.

Please add GIF Support
This feature has been requested for years, please at least add GIF support if video support is not possible. This is crucial for many learners these days.
Then I will even upgrade to Goodnotes 6. Otherwise, the other new features of version 6 are absolutely superfluous for me (and I think for many other users as well)13 votes
