3. Basic Features For the App

   Goodnotes Beta has made great progress in providing features and a great handwriting experience in the Android Beta. I have received an email indicated that the Beta is finished.

   Sadly there are two basic features that are required for any note taking app to be useful to notetakers.

   1. You must be able to take notes when you are not connected to the internet. As a student or a professional, you need to take notes anywhere, any time. You can't restrict yourself to note taking when an internet connection is available.

   2. Taking notes (typed or handwritten) is useless if you can't find the information you have noted quickly when you need it. You don't have the luxury of reading through all your notes to find a piece of information, you must have some way to search for it.

   Both of these are lacking in the current Android Beta. If Goodnotes expects people to use and pay for this app to take and keep their notes they will have to provide these two basic features.

   A lot of the suggestions in this forum like stickers and rulers and other ways to make your notes fancier are nice but these two basic features are non-negotiable if this is going to be a serious note taking app moving forward.

4. take a photo

   sometimes as a student you need to take a picture of the board, and it takes time to open the camera and then go back to GoodNotes to insert that photo. it should exist a tool than can help with that part.

5. BUG: text resizing + extra text features

   A couple of things I have noticed from using the text feature.
   1. when you exit the editing mode, the size of the text slightly decreases which is frustrating when trying to change font size to fit in a particular space or sit on the ruled lines.
   2. the size of the text in a text box can reset to 25 seemingly randomly without you changing the size, especially when I am editing and clicking out of the text box to check if the size is correct and moving the textbox around

   these are more of a wish for extra features
   3. different fonts or the ability to add your own font by uploading a file
   4. more steps for font size, e.g. 12.5, 13.5 or even better, fully resizable

7. Lagging during scrolling/ handwriting

   It is very laggy during the scrolling or the handwriting on my Samsung Tab S8 Ultra which is the most powerful Tablet you can get in the Android world on this time. I would like to have

8. Add a "pencil" writing tool

   My favorite brush on the appl pencil or SPen are the "pencil" look. I would love to have that option in goodnotes!! It is my absolute favorite to take notes, doodle, and color with because it gives it a softer look and hides my messy handwriting

    It's lagging a lot. I think this app's optimization in android has problem.

    Screenshot with Lasso tool

    we should be able to take a screenshot of any document we opened on the goodnotes tab by Lasso tool, so that we can use them further in our notes and dont need to take full page screenshots and cropping everytime .

16. when i click the eraser button on my s-pen it stays on eraser and doesnt move back to pen mode by itself

    in earlier versions when i used eraser button from stylus pen it automatically moved back to pen mode after i release the eraser button but now in the current version (i.e 77484) it doesnt moves back to pen mode by itself now pls check and solve this i would prefer that when i use eraser button on s-pen i dont want to click again and again on pen to get back to pen mode

19. Several Improvments

    Goals that have to be aimed, sorted by importance (1 is most important):

    1. Instant change from eraser back to pen (the approx. 1sec. delay is annoying)
    2. More fluent when writing
    3. PDF Export
    4. No problems with hands lying on screen, especially at first touch
    5. More pens in quick board
    6. Possibilty to organise several notebooks to a binder
    7. Copying notes from one notebook to another
    8. Possibility to step some steps back in a notepad (e.g. drawing some lines and deleting stuff ....) even if you have been in another one in the meantime
    9. Possibilty to draw definite arrows quick

    At least 1 to 4 have to be reached until i will use it.

20. Save vertical space by hiding top bar and a floating tool bar

    Please save vertical space, like hide the top bar where it shows my account, the name of the note, etc. these are useless while I am writing.
    The tool bar shoule be floating and have a vertical version like the original iPad Memo App.

    I use this tool for online lesson as a teacher, and use iPad version and Windows Beta version both.
    Considering most PC screen are 16*9 wide, so, please make the writing space more high by hiding the top bar and a floating tool bar.

    This is not only for Windows Beta, iPad and Mac version should also be like this
