Battery drain
To address the battery drain issue maybe you could implement a feature in which the software transforms strokes into vectors just every 10 seconds or so instead of doing it instantly. Or maybe an option in which one can deactivate vectoring on pdf files, where in my opinion it is not really necessary. This problem is huge! 15-20 % drain in 1 hour of use is unacceptable. Despite preferring GoodNotes, this is the reason I really am considering Switching to Notability.

Text Color
Make it so that the color of the text stays the same until you change it. If I'm annotating a page in all red text, I don't want to have to change each individual textbox red after typing.

Make a toggle for simplified 'draw to hold' with only regular shapes
I think the 'draw and hold' feature is amazing for putting emphasis on different parts of my notes, but it's always really frustrating when I'm trying to 'box' something but I don't get the lines perfectly perpendicular so the box comes out wonky. I don't even understand why anyone would want to have a rectangle with a wonky diagonal line ever?
My suggestion (which seems in theory to be a really easy to implement update) is another toggle in the 'draw and hold' section where, once toggled, it only allows basic shapes i.e. only rectangles without wonky diagonal sides, maybe…

Slidesorter to structure the storyline of presentation (Improved Thumbnail)
First of all: I love Goodnotes!
Problem: when structuring a PDF presentation/ storyline I'm missing a Slidesorter - similar to Powerpoint. "Thumbnails" already provides a great basis for this, but in horizontal mode (as most presentations), you only see 12 slides with lots of space between the rows and the slides so small that you can't even read the title of the slides.
Proposition: Kill the vertical space b/w the slide rows and add a feature to scale the zoom, i.e. the size of the slides at expense of the number of slides visible.
That would be fantastic and super…

Hand writing template
I want my hand writing to look the same. For that, I’d like to create templates for each letter. Since GN has hand-writing recognition, it can then use these templates to replace my real-time hand writing with it, resulting a consistent hand-writing.

zoom box and tool bar both on top
I think Goodnotes would be more functional and enjoyable if the tools and the zoom box were near each other instead separated. It makes it easier to switch from tool to tool while utilizing the zoom function. Having the tools on the same bar where the indent, shift buttons, and x keys are on the zoom box would be so helpful!

Show the scale
When working with a paper format different from the screen, it is complicated to be able to work in real size (100%), adjusting it manually and by eye, is complex. Some indicator could be shown, to know in which scale you are working and so you can have a better control over the writing size.

presentation mode when sharing ipad via cable on zoom
I love the presentation mode options when I share my iPad via airplay. Unfortunately, airplay in unreliable during zoom calls and I need to share my iPad via cable. But then, the presentation mode options are not available anymore, with all the downsides: people can see me zooming, my toolbar, the slides appear from the right, so I can't add have nice transitions for bullet points, etc.

Change order of the tools/icons/symbols / Reihenfolge der Werkzeuge anpassen
The order of the tools (pen, eraser, highlighter, lasso, etc.) is logical but impractical. Pens, erasers and highlighters are on the left, the colors and line widths are on the right. That means a "long" journey every time.
I would find it better if the tools and options to do so that are used together are also close together. …

Note alignment
I have a recommendation of note alignment in horizontal.
The problem is all my hard writhing note there are wasting space on the right (attachment 1). It is caused by my palm is reach to the edge of the iPad. If I fill that space up I need to hand my palm in the air or rest my palm on the table. The process isn’t smooth. Even my small hand in 11” iPad.
If that possible to user align the note to a side (depends on left-hander/right-hander) free up the other side for palm (attachment 2) instead of now always…13 votes -
Simple Keyboard Only Tools for Iphone
As a Goodnotes user on Ipad (+ Pencil) and Iphone I would really like more flexibility with using a keyboard for text imput on both platforms, but primarily on Iphone.
I would really like to have nested bullet points, dashes, numbering, and indentation features available within the Text Boxes

Recognize mathematical input, be able to export MathML
To avoid ambiguity, there could be a button that creates a resizable box for entering formulas.
For mathematical formulas, it would be great if GoodNotes could recognize special characters such as Greek letters or things like "x" with a bar over it (used to denote the mean of numerical data) or x^a (x to the power a)
For such formulas, GoodNotes should support MathML export. What I mean is, GoodNotes would save both the formula as I entered it, plus the MathML form.
This feature would be very useful for scientists, engineers, mathematicians and computer science professionals.

Current Reading List
When I’m reading multiple notes, PDFs on a subject, I would like to keep track of it.
Eg: I may be reading Mathematics in the morning and Chemistry in the evening and Physics next day. Each time I switch subject, I have to reopen all the documents. Or search for what I need and open or keep them all open.
Instead I would like to have all notes open on Physics when reading Physics.
Tagging is not what I’m looking for, but a list of documents that I’m currently reading

Favorite fonts
The new font feature is amazing. But what would be an even better addition would be the ability to star (favorite) fonts so they always appear at the top of the list. It would also be nice if we were able to sort the favorites freely. There are so many fonts I don’t use but come installed on iPad anyway, would save us so much scrolling time!

Math geometry mode
For teaching (math, biology), it would be great to improve the math geometry mode like this:
line types: dotted, dashed, solid for graphs etc.
building an circle / rectangle etc. by fixing the center / edges.
(radius for example) and enable to draw curved lines in geometry mode.
or at least just like notability put the edges of an rectangle in the right positionmay be an interface to geogebra.
