Pop-up notes, cross-sectional view of pdf, easy visibility of pdf pages
I came over to the good note while using flexl.
Good note's handwriting and comfort are touching.
However, there were many inconveniences.
First of all, when I see the pdf horizontally, I see only one page, so it is a waste of space. Don't crosswise support double-sided viewing.
Second, I wish I had a pop-up note. There is a limit to taking notes on the pdf, and split views are uncomfortable.
Thirdly, I wish I could easily grasp the pdf page.
Hundreds of pages of major books are hard to open.

Personalized Notebook Covers
I would like to be able to upload my own notebook cover from my camera roll. This would allow for personal pictures, aesthetically pleasing wallpaper covers, and individually made decorated covers with our title on it.

Sin-/ Cos- recognition using Apple Pen
Hi, I am a mechanical engineering student and use good notes a lot for lecture notes and calculations. For quick drawings of periodic functions it would be nice, if good notes would recognize sin-/cos- shaped drawings of functions. Like the spline recognition, you could add control points to adjust phase, amplitude etc. and number of displayed periods.

Lasso context menu automatically open
After selecting something, you have to tap inside the lasso area to get the options menu to open (to let you take screenshot, resize, etc). This menu should open immediately after selecting something so you don't have to tap again. (This is how the menu on Noteshelf works)

Text box/random deletions
I do not know why but every time I use a text box and type vs. using my apple pen to write. IT DELETES. All my notes are gone. It's very frustrating.

Changing the dimensions of shapes once they are drawn
Notability has the option of resizing the shapes, both enlarging and reducing but also making one side shorter or longer etc. I would like that in goodnotes

Overwrite old export when doing new export to Google Drive
As a teacher, I use GoodNotes as a smart board and do work in class, I upload notes to Google Drive for students to see later. I continually upload notes as certain parts of a document. I would love if at the start I upload the note to Google Drive, and part way through the lesson I export again to Google Drive, that the orginal one in drive is overwritten so that the new one is there for students. This way I don't end up with 3-4 files with the same name and have different things in them and studentsโฆ

highlight something and comment it - for handwritten text
It would be nice to bookmark or highlight certain sections of a document, which can also be handwritten, and add comments to it.

a set colour-set for each document
When you have a multiple taps open, it would be nice if the colours, pens etc. would be bond to the document.

writing or making pictures, rectangles, circles,... opaque/translucent
When adding a picture or drawing a box, form,..., there is an option to make it either opaque or translucent with grading in percentage. Also, writing in translucent would be also very nice for several works.

Overlapping pages
It would be really helpful if one could "unlock" a page and let it overlap another page above it.
When doing exercises I often get an exercise sheet and create a new page below for solving. It would be pretty cool if the new page could overlap the exercise sheet so I always see the exercise I am working on above it.Thanks!

"Move to next page" Button to quickly move selected text between pages
Hello,
I like GoodNotes concept of having multiple pages instead of one infinite one, but I find it too hard to quickly move text between pages.
This is why I suggest adding a "Move to next page" button that pops up once I move part of the selection outside of the page's borders (see attached image for a demonstration of how this could work).

The text function cannot modify the width
When I input some big size text or several lines text, due the text function cannot modify the width, so it cannot show it fully, sometimes it looks weird. I cannot imagine the result after I put this kind of text.

Fix images to the page!
For formatting reasons, I would love to be able to keep my images, tables etc. in the same spot. Even a 'send to back' 'bring forward' option. It's so difficult at the moment.

Mac Desktop Needs Import Extension
Drag and drop pdfs in Mac OS is annoying because you have to export, save, and then drag (or export to mail and drag, etc). Then rename the document.... Iโve noticed other 3rd party apps have extensions which would allow import through the share icon in Preview or other apps like Safari. Would love to see that feature! Would make workflow a lot smoother.

Add the FILL IN TOOL for diagrams and shapes
it would be great to have a tool that lets you fill in a shape or a diagram, especially for hand drawn pictures that we all love to insert in our notes. Using the highlighter to fill in the shape take too much time and is also imprecise.

Change Template for entire documents all at once
Add option to change page template of entire document (pages) all at once.
I use "squared paper" template when I write notes. It helps in maintaining a good hand writing experience. But to review/read, a white background feels much better to go through. Also while exporting it as pdf, blank background is better to read with. It very tiresome to change individual template of 200+ pages individually.

Treat shapes separately from regular handwritings made by the pen tool!
Drawing shapes such as boxes or ovals around handwritings for highlighting certain words or phrases causes inaccurate handwritings recognition in GN5. The reason seems to be that GN5 treats shapes drawn by the shape tools just like regular handwritings made by the pen tool, unlike Notability.
The only workaround seems to be only using the highlighter tool for emphasizing certain text since GN5 doesn't consider highlighters as text to be recognized, but the highlighter tool doesn't offer precise thickness control unlike the pen tool.
Notability seems to treat both the highlighter and the shapes differently to the handwriting made byโฆ
